So my Joico stuff arrived, does anyone know if I should shampoo and condition before using the reconstructor? Or shampoo, reconstructor then condition? The instructions on the bottle don't really make it clear what order to use them in and I want to make sure I'm getting the best results with it, as it's a wee bit pricey!

I got my cheeky ebay K-PAK box this week and have used it all twice, hair is feeling good πŸ˜€ I was just wondering how often you all use it? Every wash? I wash my hair every 3-ish days, but have also recently bought the Osmo colour mission shampoo so wondered if alternating the 2 could work, or maybe just using all the K-PAK goodies every few washes to keep hair in good condition? Thanks x

I only use the clarifying shampoo when trying to fade colour, or right before I dye.

I use the reconstructor once a week.

And the hydration treatment a couple times a week (I alternate this with Aussie deep conditioning treatment and Joico's colour-protect conditioner).

Seems to keep my hair pretty happy : )

I used it every wash until my hair felt normal again which was 3washes in 1week (as I desperately wanted my hair to get better). I now keep the reconstructor for anytime i'm bleaching (which isn't often) and I clarify and use the intense hydration every 3-4weeks.

I bought some of the Joico k-pak reconstructor, and to be honest, I don't find that it works any better on my hair than Osmo Intensive Deep Repair, which is only Β£2.99 plus postage costs.  I can't justify spending nearly Β£15 on a reconstructor which isn't any better on my hair than the osmo one.  They're actually freakishly similar! The texture is exactly the same, and the smell is only slightly different, so I guess they must have some of the same ingredients in them.

It's a strong shampoo, meant for people who do a lot of swimming or live in hard water areas I think. But of course anyone can use it.

Gotta say i too am in love with th k-pak reconstructor :)) people at work are always saying 'keep dying your hair an it will all fall out' and 'how does your hair grow so much when you do so much to it' but then they feel my hair and say 'ohh actually tis really soft and strong and shiny' I dont think they believed that for all the naughty bleaching and dying there is something that can counteract it and make it healthy again :))

Joico K-pak FTW!!

I am deffo in love with this stuff, and it smells awesome! My hair feels so silky smooth (which, to be fair, it does after any deep condition ie. Aussie 3 minute stuff) but it's got a bit more of a shine to it than it has for years now! Worth the price IMO as it'll last a while only being used once a week.

Would the chelating shampoo be good for stripping colour,I wonder? (bit pricey though)

It really annoys me too when people keep saying "keep dyeing your hair and it will fall out" my pet hate.ive a friend who keeps saying it,yet his girlfriend is blonde and has her roots done every couple of months at hairdressers,I try to explain to him its the same as her doing her roots the only damage is the roots bleaching, but for some reason people think the more unnatural the colour the more damaging .....really grinds my gears.

Meh I get that too. Most people think it's a dye job gone wrong or something. I get comments about my dreads too - are they real? Is that a wig? When I wear hats people think they're part of the hat and so on. If I had a penny for every "dumb question" I got asked or every "dumb comment" I could move to Canada on the proceeds!

You should start a fund, charge people to say ridiculous things πŸ˜€

The fact is, we've succesfully dyed our hair for years repeatedly, and its still all in, so why keep making that ridiculous threat!!

Whenever anyone says it to me I just reply 'Good! Then I can get loads of wigs and save myself time and effort :)'

So I bleach bathed my hair again last time, for the thrid time. But I left it in longer than I wanted to as something came up and I was late doing my roots. As I was rinsing it out, I could feel the ends were all chewing gummy and stretching, so I rinsed for ages to get all the bleach out, and I was so so worried it was all just going to fall out, so I whacked a load of K-Pak Reconstructor on, left it for about 8 minutes, then rinsed and used the Intense Hydrator for 5 mins, then the Split End Mender trial sachet I got with my box of Joico. Went to brush it very gently, I think my eyes were closed cause I was so sure at least an inch would have to be chopped off.. but the Joico stuff worked an actual miracle and today my hair is in better condition than it was before I bleached it! I'm so surprised but also bloody pleased! I can't recommend this stuff enough, nothing I've tried - Aussie 3 Minute Miracle, leave in conditioners, hot oil treatments - has even come anywhere close! I have ordered another big bottle of the Reconstructor today, this is my favourite ever product for damaged hair repair! LOVE LOVE LOVE!!
