I gave this a go earlier today, as part of my plan to restore my hair's health prior to bleaching. Had a bit of trouble scooping it out of the tub as it's really solid, but managed to get enough out and melted it in the microwave for 2 minutes. Massaged it into my hair and left it on for 2 hours before washing it 3 times, as it still felt a bit oily after the first and second wash. I found I could run my fingers easily through my dripping wet hair and my hair's usually slightly rough when wet, it also felt incredibly light even while dripping wet. Once completely dry it felt absolutely amazing, really soft, especially the back of my hair which has always been rougher than the rest of my hair for some reason. And it smells really yummy, I used a strongly-scented mandarin shampoo to wash it out but my hair now smells only of coconut. Excellent product, I definitely recommend it ๐Ÿ™‚

Just a tip for the future, it's easier to wash oil out with conditioner.

Cheers for the tip, I was reluctant to use conditioner with it because on the label it says not to, but if it makes it easier to wash out then I'll try that when I use the oil again next week ๐Ÿ™‚

Glad to see that others of you have had good results with this product too ๐Ÿ™‚

I dont think this works as well as henna wax ๐Ÿ˜ฎ
But, it did make it less frizzy for a few days ๐Ÿ˜‰

I've just re-dyed my hair today, left it on for a few hours, then plopped on some coconut oil, left that for an hour or so then washed it all off. My hair is so soft except i think my ends needed it on for longer. Hair smells awesome though, even did a vinegar rinse and even after that I can still just smell coconut in my hair ๐Ÿ™‚

I just melt the whole thing in the microwave, still in the tub!

I used 3/4's of a tub on my previously bleach bathed hair.
Left it on for about 2 hours, washed it out on the night, and had to wash again in the morning.
i usualy only do conditioner washes so wasnt so bad but didint seem to make my hair much softer/if any. just a bit thicker i think.

Any idea's why this happened?

I love this coconut oil. I get really bad dry skin round my mouth in the winter and this has cleared it right up.

I'd stick to either scooping it out by hand (it has a low melting point and will melt on contact) or warm water, microwaves will damage the nutrients in the oil

I bought some of this and had the same problem with it being too solid - my microwave REALLY didn't like the tub, though, as the light started to flash and crackle after only a couple of seconds! Eek. In the end I used a hair dryer to soften it instead. I was really pleased with the results - my hair barely felt like it had been bleached at all even though I'd whacked on 40vol for the full 90 minutes!

Thanks for sharing this, I wasn't aware that microwaving the oil could damage it ๐Ÿ™ I tend to put the tub in to melt the entire lot, use what I need and let the rest of the oil harden again, and repeat the process week after week ๐Ÿ™

I have the same problem, it starts hissing and crackling, and my tub now has a huge dent melted into it ๐Ÿ˜ฎ I might try that hairdrier trick, thanks for mentioning that ๐Ÿ™‚
