Seen them in wilkinsons lol, basically they're cheap and do pink purple and blue and the blue looks awesome.
If i ever get the chance to dye my hair colourful again i'll try the blue - unless someone has experience and knows its worth staying away from?
Is this the same thing? http://www.ciao.co.uk/Reviews/Smart_Beauty_Hair_Dye__6736321.
Not tried it but came across these reviews a while back when I was looking at different brands to try.
Its the same company but not the one i'm looking at, as those are 'permanent'.
Go there and click products semi-permanent. If i try it i'll get back to you, as i'm a hair dye addict too ;D I'm having withdrawals at, been blonde for months π
yes.. i sometimes use these..
1- they are dead cheap
2- the colours are actually good
3- they last very well
I do have pictures of my hair using these dyes, but it wont let me post them π message me if you want to see them and i can send a link
i used the red before and it was ok... but did not lighten my hair enough as claimed, still it was cheap and easier than using foils then dye π
I will look into these more and hopefully start stocking these if possible π
I've used the pink on someone else - if it's the product I'm thinking of, with the bleach already included then it's quite good as it saves on bleaching time. You can always go over the colour with a longer lasting semi-permanent colour.
I've seen semi perminant dyes and then the ones with the bleach. I have tried most, the colours without the bleach are very good over bleached hair of course.
The packs that lighten and colour at the same time are okay.. just okay though, the pink works very well but the red and blue and purple ones of these are not so good. blue went greeny, red was orangy and purple was orangy. My natural hair colour is very dark brown if that helps
here are some pictures of my hair using the semi perminant colours (not the dyes that bleach at the same time), bleached hair first they lasted quite a while, at least a month with very little signs of fading on the blue and pink, the purple faded a little quicker going a blueish shade.
<-- purple
<--- blue and pink
Hiya, I know what you are on about but Ihave only ever used the streak kit ones (not straight dye). the streak kit stuff from the same brand is unreliable,
Red went pink on my brothers hair, the pink went pretty much red on my hair and the pink also went salmon on my sisters hair. it did last though.
not tried the dyes they do say to pre-bleach so could be worth a go?
my experience of smart dyes...they bleach and colour at the same time, you mix them almost like a bleach and paint it on with a brush.
Carmen pink- wasnt a vibrant pink...was more redish pink...a bit of a peachy red aswell not bright...washed my hair the next day...samoln. NOT GOOD litteraly lasts 2 days.
the blue, i THINK its called eletric blue? cant remember...put it on...didnt even go blue, went a weird greeny washed out colour strait away it was so bad i just chucked a black on it strait away.. you might aswell not bother.
I have used the blue and the red, I cannot remember the exact shade etc as it has been a couple of years since I tried them. The blue was terrible and went a sea green that faded to a nasty green after a couple of washes. The red was a bit better but turned orange after a week, but the orange lasted well.
I used Smart permnent dye, the red shade and it was awful! It wasn't red at all and the packaging was very misleading. Perhaps the semi-perm's are fine but I can tell you that the Smart website has photo's of the box of the one I used, showing a model with bright red hair but when you click the link on it to see the info the model's hair is actually brown with no sign of red anywhere. That's what I got when I used it, no red at all, just an average shade of brown.
I used the pink one on black heir. My hair went orange. I wasnt happy. But i used them on my friends blonde hair and they turnt out pretty good π
I put the red in with my deadly nightshade dye and it went a lovely shade of red, slightly burgandy but really bright! And that was on dark red hair.
I used the red highlighting kit on black hair and it lifted really well, i also used the purply looking red and that was lovely too!
I've never used the bleach but i've heard good things π
I used the pink highlighting kit about 3-4 years ago over natural dark brown hair and got a good result. I think I topped up the colour with a Stargazer pink though as it faded quickly.
Lately I've been trying to sort out getting my hair bleached properly at the hairdressers (I would prob burn myself if I attempted it at home lol) so I can get bright coloured highlights but I saw these kits in Superdrug yesterday and remembered how well the pink worked so bought one. It includes a pre-lightening kit that seems simple to use (I won't have to worry about volumes and stuff) and I did a strand test last night and it turned my dark brown hair a mid-blonde colour. I would need to go lighter for pale-pinks and blues I think but I'm trying purple so should be ok and I plan to top it up with SFX, this just seemed a cheap and easy way to lighten my hair first.
I shall let you know the results!
Oh and they've changed the packaging recently:
The kit includes:
Instructions
Gloves
Application brush
Colour tube- depending on which shade you picked
Lightening Powder
Developer Cream
If you have light blonde hair the kit doesn't require you to use the pre-lightener. But then you would prob be better off using a different semi-permanent dye.
