I bought a pair of silk pillows on Ebay recently. My hair has faded less at the back since I started sleeping on silk. I bought midnight blue pillowcases as they're better with my preference for dark bright colours. But I can still tell if there's dye stains or transfer when I look in bright light, and it's minimal compared to what was on my cotton ones.

As a side note, silk or satin pillowcases also reduce the amount of wrinkles you could get! Less friction on the fabric means your face slides over the pillow when you sleep, instead of getting squished on the fabric. I just wish I'd known about that before I hit my late thirties lol! ;D

I don't think I could cope with silk pillowcases. I'm really picky about how I have my pillow when I'm sleeping and if my face kept sliding off it I would never get any shut-eye!

Lol, I'm 35 and only just paid any attention to this, should have purchased them sooner! Then again, I could have stayed away from the sun sooner too 🙁
My husband hates it, I think it took him less than an hour to switch back to cotton. I wasn't sure whether I'd like them, and now I wouldn't go back 🙂 I know there are also some brushed ie matte silk ones on the market, I suspect these may slide less. But tbh I haven't noticed a slipping problem with my shiny ones and I too am picky about my pillow.

The only trouble I had with them was the duvet cover. It slid around all over the place and hubby's a duvet stealer so it got all twisted in the night. I'm not the type who can have pillows that don't match the duvet so I switched them out for cotton again but otheriwse I'd love to stay with silk/satin.
