Reviews/substitutions for product in the States?

Hi everyone! Im fairly new to the forum and you all have been so helpful already! Many thanks! I realize this is a UK-based forum and I noticed that most of the products everyone raves/reviews are readily available in the UK but not so available in the US. I know there are a few American forum members, so maybe they can help? I would like to know what products are best that i can find in my local sally, or walgreens/CVS? Right now im bbing with ion brand bleach, and also got the ion color remover. Although I have no basis for comparison so its not going to be a very good review. lol Like, what do you girls in the States use as a substitute for colour b4? how about a sub for kpak?(even though i already bought this online) I usually either end up winging it at the store or buying online for more money because of shipping overseas.
So how about it? Lets hear some US substitution/reviews?

Trust me, there is always more choice in the states! Readily available here, normally means buying online or buying from the states lol There is more in the last 10 years though, thanks to Beeunique and the like.

I can't remember a lot of the substitute products right now, but I'm sure one of the US members can help soon.

I think Colour B4 is called Color Oops in the USA.

Joico K-pak is a US product and available at Ulta or any salon that sells Joico products.

I have an advantage that most do not in that I hold a professional license that allows me to shop at places like CosmoProf and SalonCentric where I can obtain salon products at cost... so that's mostly what I use.  Many of those products are available through online merchants for less than you would pay in a salon, but then you've got to pay shipping so it might be a wash.  I live in the boondocks, and so most of the stores that sell to professionals are an hour or more from my home.  Quite often, I order online.  We're not allowed to drop supplier names in the forum, but just google and see who comes up for the US.  Trust me, there are plenty!  πŸ˜‰

I've not shopped at Sally's in many years, so I can't be of help with Ion products.

I did use Kenra's Color Correction System (there's a review posted in this part of the forum).  That's a salon product in the US that you would likely be able to get at Ulta as well.  It seems to me like it works just like ColourB4.

It would help to know more specifically what products you're looking to sub for.  πŸ™‚

I was really looking for kpak and colour b4 subs, but you guys already answered that! I went to sally and they dont have joico, I guess i should look for another beauty supply place close to me lol. Also, whats a good cone free leave in conditioner, as im going to start cowashing every other day? I currently use tresseme naturals volume low sulfate shampoo and the matching conditioner.

If you have an Ulta near you anywhere, or a Trade Secret, they will have Joico products.  You won't find those at Sally's.  They are for distribution through salons or salon outlets only.

Also, you can check out these reviews:
http://www.naturallycurly.com/curlproducts/search

And read up on the Curly Girl forum for info on US products that are cone-free:

I don't use a leave-in conditioner personally, so I can't really recommend one.  I have used my conditioner as a leave-in (slightly diluted TREsemme Naturals or Suave Natural Tropical Coconut).

Hope those are helpful!

They carry Joico products at my local Walgreens! I use Garnier Length and Strength, which has a modified water soluble cone to keep my hair looking smooth without the build up.
