Natural Products - Naturigin & Faith in Nature anyone??

Hey, anyone used any Naturigin hair dye? It's ammonia & paraben free. I'm trying to go back to my natural dirty blonde and they have a couple dyes that claim to lighten hair, just wondering how a 'natural' product can do this. The box says permanent, grey coverage too. They have some really nice red/blonde/brown shades that all look very 'natural' on the box. Just wonder if they're worth buying.

Faith in Nature do shampoos, conditioners etc. that are SLS free and natural as possible afaik - they seem like a cheaper alternative to Body Shop Rainforest products (which I love but I'm too far from the shop to keep using it).

These two brands are carried in my local pharmacy, as well as one other shampoo range whose name I can't think of.. Atm I'm using up anything I have and just gonna stick with silicone/sulphate/paraben free from now on. I've been told silicones from cosmetics and various other sources are doing awful things to the local fish, as well as being crap for my hair.

We use faith in nature, but not body shop due to them being bought out. If possible I preferred to buy cruelty free products that also have a low impact on the environment.

How do you find Faith in Nature?
They were bought out? Are they still cruelty free? I think they're too expensive anyway. I also don't like how they have like 10 'natural' products when it's kind of marketed as environmentally friendly etc. IMO if they are going for that image they should carry it in all areas of production.

Body shop were bought by l'oreal in 2006, and l'oreal test on animals. They say they don't test body shop products on animals, but the money still goes to an unethical company. The attitude and shops of the body shop seem to have changed too quite a bit since then I think.

We've used faith in nature shampoo, conditioner and clothes washing liquid and it's all been good so far.

ah didn't know that, thanks! that's another shop I'll be bypassing anyway! I found a really good document with a list of animal tested products & brands on it, think it was from PETA or similar. It was very comprehensive. If I find it again, I'll post a link. πŸ™‚

Yes, peta is good for info, and the internet in general. Also, for household stuff, co-op have environmentally friendly products sand don't test on animals, like washing up liquid and clothes washing liquid.

Ah, well I don't have Co-Op - I'm in very rural Ireland. I'm ages away from Tesco, or Boots, and we don't have Superdrug or Sainsbury's or Asda...We have supermarkets nearby, but it's kinda crappy for getting anything that isn't Garnier/L'Oreal etc. We have small local health shops and stuff and pharmacys are quite god with natural products. Just more expensive I guess. SO I don't have a great range of options. I've been looking in to making some of my own products from things like olive oil soaps and that.

Thanks for this thread - I've been trying to find a shampoo that's SLS and paraben free (because I don't want my dye to fade and I get eczema) This Faith In Nature sounds awesome! I'm going to try the Hemp and Meadowfoam one as my hair is fine πŸ™‚

It might have been a list from BUAV.
