Tried this flat iron spray upon recommendation from one of the girls at the salon I work at. She swore by it so I decided, sure why not try it?
$16 and a shower later, I'm very eager to try it (because who DOESN'T get excited about new products?) and holy hell did it make my hair feel awful. I had just done a moisture treatment the night before and my hair felt lovely until I sprayed the protectant on it. It smelled of alcohol (my first red flag) and I could hardly comb it through. But I was determined to like it so I continued on one whole half of my head. My ends feel fried and crunchy, the lengths and roots feel like straw, and I can hardly get my hands through it.
Guess I will be returning this tomorrow!
Has anyone else had this experience with it? What are some heat protectants that actually work?
Ive never tried it but Loreal owns Matrix now and theyve screwed around with their formulations in some of tbeir products. You may have a reformulated one if it sucks + the girl who recommended it to you may not have bought a new formulated one yet. They screwed up their biolage hydrating balm too. It used to be super thick, people have been loyal to it for years and years, myself included. Now it has actual RUBBING alcohol in it! And its super runny. Check the Matrix site+ look at the reviews to see what people are saying. You can see how pissed people are on their site!

Ugh that is AWFUL!
The shop I bought it from had the formula I purchased (in a clear orange bottle) and the "new" formula next to it. Figured the girl had been using the old formula so I picked up that one. But they may have changed it around a couple times to cut corners here and there so who knows. I just really wanted something to protect my hair, not make it worse :-[
