I stopped using shampoo about 6 months ago, and yes my hair was soft and I had some curl definition but my hair always felt a bit lank, no matter how much I clarified so I caved and because I've developed a recent obession with Lush I decided to try out shampoo again.
So I bought Godiva 2 in 1 shampoo & conditioning bar and Jungle solid conditioner cuz it's only like £3.
I was wary of Godiva cuz it has SLS in it and that usually dries my hair out but in the shower I got and wet my hair, wet the bar and rubbed it down my hair 3-4 times, then I got a really rich lather which rinsed away easily and didn't leave my hair feeling overly stripped and the lather wasn't orange stained as it usually is when I use shampoo so I don't think it's very colour stripping either.
Then I moved onto use Jungle, the solid conditioner. This was a bit of a learning curve as it's quite hard to get it to work first time so I tried rubbing the wet bar along my hair and the ends but it didn't feel like anything was there so I tried 'lathering' it up in my hands and rubbing that on my hair, after a bit I got fed up and just tied my hair up and carried on with my shower. As I was showering I noticed I could smell the conditioner so I knew it was in my hair, when I went to rinse it out I combed my hair and there was no tangles, I didn't have to rip my comb through my hair so it definitely worked.
I rinsed it out and my hair felt really light and clean, got out of the shower, plopped my hair and then left it air dry, I had so much curl definition and my hair feel moisturied but really light and bouncy, I think I'm converted!
How are you finding these bars after using them a few times? Do they last long? I'm thinking of getting one but the sls bit puts me off!
My hair's still really soft and my curls are good, I've noticed my hair fading a bit faster than normal but not massively.
I can't quite get used to the conditioner as it doesn't even feel like there's conditioner on my hair until it's dry but I'm persisting!
good review thanks never tried any lush before but really want to. the smell of the shop gives me an allergic reaction though so have to order online lol
I should warn you though, their boxes that the product comes in, smells exactly as much as the shop I'm afraid :/
I don't think the boxes smell that strong, unless you've ordered loads of bath stuff, or I might just be immune to the smell as that's what my room smells like haha.
I always find the boxes smell really strong, but then I always order loads of unwrapped bath stuff!
