L'Oreal Feria 74 Mango Intense Copper

I used this today over a mixture of natural roots (dark brown), previously dyed and previously bleached hair.  The box says that it is ok over lightened hair but you should wait at least two weeks.

The dye is easy to make up and use, same as most box dyes really. It's quite runny but I only spilt a little bit!  The main problem was it running down my face, by my ears and down the back of my neck, but you can avoid this by not squirting out too much at a time. It looks a bit like jam πŸ™‚

When I washed the colour off I was a bit alarmed about the amount of hair coming out (I blocked the plughole) but I will put this down to the extra massaging and that I rarely brush or comb my hair between washes. The water went clear suprisingly quickly and you get loads of conditioner.

All good so far, will post pictures once it is dry.

I'm really interested to see how it comes out! The Feria dyes in this range are super runny, I usually mix it up and then pour it into a bowl and use a tint brush instead πŸ™‚ makes it go further and it doesn't drip everywhere. Something to think of maybe if you decide to keep it up!

Also, it didn't get orange on my towel/dressing gown but it did make my eyes hurt a little and give me a bit of a headache like peroxide normal does.

So, the good points:
- easy to use
- it has successfully gingerfied my natural dark brown roots
- it's gone a bit like the box, maybe
- my hair feels soft and 'slippery'

The bad points:
- It has done nothing to my underlayer of faded black (semi-perm over perm ginger)

I quite like the colour, it's ginger/red/brown depending on what light, but it's dissapointingly bog standard and very similar to when I last dyed it.

If you use a diluted orange over that it'll go much more vivid but not "orange" it'll just intensify the ginger. Maybe give that a go.

I think I just picked the wrong day to dye/photograph it - it looks soooo much better in the sun!

I am tempted to try colour B4 on the underneath and see if I can get away with some brighter orange/yellow, but it will have to wait till next payday!

Just wanted to update this as I've now had this for a few days.  I love the colour, it's bright enough to be a bit crazy but still natural enough for work.

However, as it is a bit natural I wouldn't recommend it as a proper crazy colour, but otherwise, two thumbs up πŸ™‚
