I love this product. I have been using it for years whenever I have bleached, fried, used a permanent dye, or whenevermy hair just didnt feel healthy. It has never failed me. I have fine hair, but my cuticle is thicker than most fine hair. This product always seems to just restore life to my hair, it seems to even out porosity really well, my natural wave is always much more consistent throughout my hair after using this, and the waves are more smooth and pronounced, not frizzy or fluffy at all. I usually shampoo, towel dry well or let my hair air dry for a short while, then saturate my hair with this. my hair is about bra strap length and i need 2 packets of it now. after saturating the hair, i find i get the best results if i cover my hair in a plastic shopping bag (i like using those as opposed to shower caps or cling film) and i wave the blow dryer over it for 10-15 minutes, then i let it set in for however long i want to, usually an hour or two. oe time i left it in for about 8 hours though (busy with the kids/housework/dinner) and it definitely overconditioned my hair. so just dont leave it in for hours and hours.
id reccommend this product to anyone, i love it!
I love the packets, but the stuff in the vials is awful.
I usually don't need a full packet since my hair is SO fine (it comes down to the ends of my bra straps in length), I cheat and put the rest into a little travel bottle. I get 2-3 uses out of one packet that way. It says to always use a whole package but I don't notice any decreased effectiveness.
I always try to keep these around for when my hair is just super dry and annoying.
Ya ive never really liked cared for most liquidy, not creamy, treatments. Idk, i justfeel like i need so much to fully saturate my hair. Im glad you like this stuff too! I think as long as you work it all through your hair its fine,i think thats why they say to use the whole packet. But if you only need a third or half, then theres no need to use the rest really π
I don't think I would be comfortable putting placenta in my hair, the ick factor would totally put me off. I was given a very posh face cream once with placenta in, I gave it away.
ya, sometimes when i squeeze it out and feel that weird coagulated blood texture it kinda grosses me out, but i just switch my brain to hair treatment mode + get excited about how awesome it makes my hair feel. i do not think i could put it on my face though lol....it probably makes it feel great but...eh...
It only has placental extract, not actual chopped up and pureed placenta in a packet . The texture is just like other conditioners and it smells like berries. I just kind of ignore the placenta part. It's kind of weird but it makes my hair really nice and manageable.
Is it any more weird than crushing up beetles for carmine that we then smear on our lips and eyes? Or spritzing yourself with fragrance that includes ambergris, something whales barf up? LOL there are a lot of gross/ weird ingredients in cosmetic products. Sometimes it's best to not think about it.
That is why I try and stick to natural and simple products. I was vegan for years so I am more aware of just how many animal parts are used in cosmetics π
ew, how do they collect/gather the whale barf? i always have found it weirdly interesting to find out ingredients in products that you would normally never guess in a million years where in them. or stuff like, how many spiders the average person consumes in a year from parts of them being in certain foods...i try not to think about it but its still really fascinating
There are bits of whale in literally hundreds of different products, it is amazing.
Ambergris is sometimes collected when it washes up on shore since sperm whale hunting isn't as common (of course, the countries that do hunt them are also a source). If you're lucky enough to find some you can make a lot of money (but not in the US since the trade of whale products is banned)! The fresh stuff smells like poop (since it's actually crapped out more than barfed) so you might not want to pick it up, but some kid found a $60,000 hunk.
I kind of have to wonder about the guy that first picked it up and thought "you know, I bet this will make a smashing perfume".
Lmao, i know, right! I would love to study the science behind cosmetics + the history of ingredients.
update:
i just did one of these last night after washing my hair for the first time since dying it. i seriously lovelovelove this stuff so much.my hair felt like it was dirty but not from natural causes or product because i really dont use any...idk it just felt gross. and my ends felt dry and were fluffy looking and my hair was just really unmanageable feeling. after doing this - night and day difference. my hair feels totally back to normal, silky, it has "life" to it again. this product rocks.
Saw this thread a couple days ago and meant to buy some, and if you can believe it, this was another product I loved in the USA! So I just found it today on Amazon and ordered it.
So thank you for starting this topic... I've got another great hair product on its way! Ha ha.
i bought a packet of this a while ago, but have yet to use it. does it have any effect on veggies? i don't want to prematurely fade my new color, but i'd love to use a nice treatment before going home for thanksgiving...
I never had any issues with it taking out dye. Just don't scrub it in of course.
nope! i just dyed my hair maybe a week ago and i used it last night and no more color came out than normally would by rinsing the hair. my hair is how it is in my avatar and the water running was just a light, pastelly pink.
@Alexia good im glad i reminded you of it!
