I posted in another part of the forum about my experience with Colour B4. Hair had been bleached white blonde for years, recently coloured over with two semi permanent dyes by hairdresser - a warm colour and a dark brown. Colour B4 lifted all of the colour to the bleached state but as I was rinsing with the buffer my hair changed and the result was a warm auburn. I've been washing and started to use a clarifying shampoo. Can anyone advise me on when I should be rinsing the longest? Should I be rinsing longer before applying the buffer or after the buffer? I rinsed 10 minutes before the the buffer as suggested and followed with the buffer, rinsing the recommended time for the two washes. I feel like when the buffer was applied it noticeably changed most.
I'm going to try again but want to rinse more, just not sure where the most rinsing is needed?
I did a strand test of the extra strength on pillarbox red hair and it turned green :O guess I have to fade it more!
Hi guys,
I am in a bit of a pickle with my hair and I thought I would ask someone with experience, really do not fancy shaving off my hair and going around in a wig till it grows back. This is the story of my hair. I have been dying it black with henna for about 3 years, when I first started a hairdresser convinced me that's the best way not to damage my hair. A couple of months ago though I was tired sick of having the same hair colour with almost the same haircut, so I bought some hair lightener, it was something quite light of Garnier, and I did a strand test which seemed alright, so I went for it. That bleach only made my hair light around the roots and in the back, and it feels a bit crispy and dry ever since. What I did afterwards was put some red in it, one of those XXL Red Berry I think it's called, and where the bleach had taken, it went really red, and the rest had some highlight of red only visible in the light. Stayed like that for a about 3 weeks, than got another dye, Garnier, in natural black, because I decided I'd rather be black than patchy. Black pretty much covered it, but in the last 2 weeks has started to fade away, so now the final result is: black, brown where my natural hair is showing, red where the bleach caught, and deep reddish brown in places. Now, I was wondering if this Colour B4 can help me fix the massacre I have made of my hair, I am quite worried I will ruin it but I cannot go around with my hair in a pony tail forever. Any advice would be more than welcome!
I have to say that I just finished using this on my pale, faded pink hair and it did nothing at all! Quite disappointed. And it wasn't a veggie dye either so I expected it to lift, I guess I'll have to bleach bathe it..
I've been looking at colour b4 and was wondering if anyone knows if it works on normal dark brown perm colour not just the reds, blues, purple etc that you guys have all mentioned. Hope you can help, thanks 🙂
Yes. It was designed to take out natural perm and semi perm box dyes and colours
That's great. Thanks for your help 🙂
Ok, so... As my username reads, I'm a hairstylist who has had several encounters with colour b4 on my clients... However, being a hairstylist, I have that underlying worry that the product won't work for me! My hair is currently covered with Red Passion XXL and I just wanna shift it. It's taken me a while to get my hair back to a decent condition after an episode with a bleach disaster, so I'm trying to avoid bleach bathing at all costs! Now, from reading the posts, it's obvious that I'm not gonna go blonde. This, tbh, isn't a problem... I just want to shift the red tone in order to have bleach hi-lights all over to create a more natural toned look, than a brassy ginger colour. Has anyone else used the Red Passion or similar colour by XXL and had a successful removal? Again, I don't want or expect to go a perfect blonde colour after, I just want a blank canvas to go blonder with. Any help or experience would be great! (obvs I will tone with shampoos and tons to help after the bleach hi-lites)! CHEERS! 🙂
hello, well xxl is more difficult to remove if you use/d excessive heat(as its loaded with silicone) b ut we've had/heard alot of success from people removing it. id imagine you'd get a lovely auburn/ginger. just make sure you dont bleach straight away, as the b4 can reoxidies and turn your hair black. so wash, wash ans wash like a mad woman! good luck
Cheers!! :)) Will post feedback once I've braved it!
yay =) and piccies as well(yesh im cheeky)
Good luck with it!
I just wanted to say that I had YEARS of XXL reds build up on my hair ... and one application of B4 Extra processed for an hour took it to a golden honey blonde. Obviously it's dependent on your base colour (mine was ash brown), but it's completely possible with an ash natural colour to get blonde from B4.
I too had years of red Live XXL build up removed with Colour B4. There is actually no silicones in the Red Passion nor the Hypnotic Red IIRC.
Hurrah!! It worked.... Like intempestivity, my hair has gone a honey blonde... I actually love the colour!!! I'm so glad a I braved it. Will leave it a week or so, then stick loads of bleach hi-lights thru it :))
Thanks for your help etc... X
huzzah! i love a happy ending =)
