ugh I used this on my hair two days ago, and can not get rid of the stench, was not so bad the first time I used it!
Hhmm I've just had my hair tied back today, not done anything with it, but it seems more red this evening than it did yesterday, even the fringe which probably on had one coat of colour, maybe at a push 2.
Has any one else had this?
I decided to give this a go, but was not expecting any decent results, as due to the serious fading I was getting from Nuclear Red, i slapped a Schwarzkopf dye on it, and used GHD's 5 out of 7 days a week. However I was pleasantly surprised - 10 years of dark build up all gone back to ginger! It is patchy in places, but considering I was expecting it not to work at all, I'm dead pleased!
But the stink. Oh GOD, the stink!! ๐ฎ
Hi, I had white blonde hair until 4 weeks ago when my hairdresser dyed it mid-brown for me (fancied a change). It was a nice colour, but faded quickly so I put a L'Oreal Casting colour on in a dark brown - it's now a bit too dark. I've washed it multiple times with clafifying shampoo and been on holiday in the sun but no fade at all... I've bought a box of Colour b4 and am intending to use this for maybe 30 mins (rather than the full 60 mins) to strip some of the colour back to a lighter brown, then put on another Casting in a honey brown. Do you think this will work??
Also am slightly worried about the smell, some people here said the stink remained after multiple washes - to those people: did the smell go eventually?! Thanks so much for your help!
It should work in theory, but there are no promises with B4 and semi dyes.
The only way to know is to try it!
And the smell only lasted a few hours for me, but I did rinse like a possessed woman for over twenty minutes after the treatment and twenty more after the buffer.
my smell went an hour after air drying my hair. the house on the other hand...well i lit some nag champa to hide that smell =)
Does anyone know if this stuff works well on extensions? I used it and took the red/brown out of my hair and turned it dark blonde even though my hair is naturally brown (:
Hiya i'm thinking of using colour b4 on my hair and i just needed your advice. My hair atm is abit similar to what your was as its bright red and i really want to get it back to blonde because i'm sick of how it looks so i was thinking of buying colour b4 and then buying some blonde hair dye to use afterwards. Is it correct that i just use colour b4 the once to get all the red out and then i can just put the blonde hair dye on straight away? If you could let me know ASAP that would be great because i'm thinking of doing it tomorrow as i'm really sick of the colour and when i read what you posted i was really excited because it looks really easy to get back my blonde colour so if you could let me know asap that would be amazing! thankyouuu! ;D xxxx
You can put the blonde on after, however, it is not recommended.
This is because 1) Colour B4 is drying and 2) the peroxide in the dye reacts with any B4 residues left in your hair. This can reoxidise the dye and bring your colour back any where that still has B4 residues.
It's advisable to leave it a few days and wash and deep condition before using peroxide after Colour B4.
okay thankyou so if i use the colour b4, tomorrow night after work and then put the blonde on say tuesday or wednesday it should be fine? xx
That should be ok, just make sure to give it a couple of clarifying washes and deep conditioning treatments during that time ๐
aww okay thankyou very much! you've been a massive help ๐ xx
I have used this stuff and its great!
Seeing as it doesnt damage your hair is def worth a try xD
Wow that worked so well. Holy crap I'm amazed, I'm definitely going to try this some day if I get tired of red. I bought Color Oops and my friend wanted me to use it since her hair was too dark, and her hair turned out so awful I felt so bad ):
Thanks for this review, I hope they sell it in America!
I used some like a year ago and was impressed.
I dyed my hair a hot hot red with a Superdrug dye in December and decided to strip it as i wanted to go light ginger. It worked perfectly, and I ended up with the colour I wanted to go so I didn't need to dye it again!
BUT! the smell didn't go fo FIVE DAYS. and i deep conditioned and used a couple of protein treatments. GEEZ!
