It probably means your hair is in more need of moisture than protein (too very different needs). Your hair must like the oil in mayonnaise, so you could try your luck with more oils. I have done egg treatments as well as mayonnaise for protein in the past, but the scientific stuff I read on line made me wonder if they were actually any use.
Basically the reason K Pak works is the protein is hydrolized so that the molecules can fit inside the hair cortex, whereas protein from food stuff wouldn't be able to enter the hair.

But I'm not sure if it's not research somehow funded by cosmetics company. If an egg worked better than a treatment costing £11 for 150 ml, surely everyone would stop buying it?

Or maybe I'm just talking out of my *ss :).

I really don't know, a hell of a lot of my hair has snapped off, could that just be from lack of moisture? x

I usually buy k-pak but i'm poor this month so bought some aphogee 2 minute reconstructor. I have to say it is the most useless hair product in my bathroom! It done nothing to my hair and had to use half the bottle to coat it properly. Cant complain since it was only £4 but i wish i had just kept my money and put it towards a bottle of k-pak.

I did however find a henna wax treatment lurking in the bathroom (no idea where it came from) and its fab! Left my hair looking and feeling alot better and stripped out alot of my colour! Would reccomend it for anyone fading and bleach bathing.
