Yes, the Coral I think is too light, the blonde is showing through at the roots, and I expect it won't fade nicely. So a proper bright blue at the roots would work well. Midnight looks gorgeous too - I've got quite a thing for navy.

Hmm, interesting! It's tiny pic, sorry, but even so I think you can see my scalp... my hair is fine but plentiful, so long seems to work better. Much though I still pretend I'm a short-hair person really 😉

"Reverse ombre", what a great name! It was by accident this time round, I thought I'd go Coral all over and darken if I needed to, but apparently one bottle isn't enough to cover everything.

I love the curls, they really suit you.  I'm so jealous of people who can curl their hair; mine will never, ever hold.  Sometimes the ends of my layers flick out if I've rested on them while they're damp, but other than that ... nothing.

I usually need a minimum of three Directions containers on my hair (which is about as long as yours) and Stargazer I think has even less volume, so you'd probably need four of them.

Ah now the curls. My hair is totally poker straight naturally - honestly, if I air-dry it, it looks like I've straightened it! One photo above from this year shows that. However, I learnt how to do pincurls, and they seem to work ok - a mix of using setting lotion, setting when damp, and leaving them in until they're bone dry. Best to sleep on them, I find, or leave in all day (and sometimes I still get surprises, like the back curls aren't dry!) They still drop out on the longer parts after a while, and if I go somewhere warm or damp, they drop too, of course.

The other thing to bear in mind is that I had it cut in a 40s layer cut, specifically so that curls would look good - a blunt cut is never as good to show them off. The shorter layers are definitely easier to curl, too.

So my experience is that even extremely reluctant hair can be curled, albeit with some effort. I'm pretty lazy about it, though, and mostly just wear my hair in plaits!

Looks like I was lucky to get all that done with 2x Stargazer bottles, then (I even have a tiny amount left for conditioning rinses). I shall definitely buy more bottles next time, running out is NOT a good idea!

The blue looks lovely and the curls are great too.  My hair is stick straight too so I know how much of a pain they can be.

I curl my hair all over pretty often nowadays. I use the rag method usually, it works far, far, far better than curlers in my opinion. 😀
