I usually use wella blondor bleach powder and developer, but unfortunately as I'm away for Easter these weren't available to me and I didn't want to buy whole new containers of them ($$), so I bought a lovely box dye!
Any how, as I'm used to mixing bleach powder and developer, I realised after I'd bleached my roots that I forgot to add the tube of "Pre-lightening creme", I have no idea what this is, and my hair bleached as normal, but I'm slightly concerned I might've just bleached my roots with ultra strong bleach as this cream might be to dilute the mixture?
Does any one know what it's for?
The box dye I used was Garnier Nutrisse Truly Blonde, and on the front it says Creme Pre-Lightener+

I'm hoping that the creme prelightener just usually makes the bleach stronger rather than weaker. Should I be worried that I didn't use it? My hair is still on my head which is always a good sign, but I'd rather avoid any extra breakage!
The tube contains the lightener, the actual blonde dye. The bleach sachets are then added to increase the amount of lift. You are supposed to mix the tube and the sachets into the peroxide.

I know you're meant to mix them all, but I forgot and assumed the tube was a conditioner. *puzz*
Have I done more harm to my hair than I would usually? (Usually I mix the cream, powder and peroxide).
No, the 'booster powder' or 'lightening activator' or whatever they call it is just plain bleach powder. It probably had quite high level peroxide, 30 or 40 vol though.

Ah okay! I deliberately got the one that lightened 4-6 levels instead of 6-8 levels as I was hoping it wouldn't be 40vol (A hairdresser used 40vol on me once and burnt my scalp) and I also had coconut oil in my hair so hopefully it wasn't too damaging.
My hair doesn't feel any worse than usual so I'll just make sure to take extra good care of it for the next month. Thanks π
I've just had a look at them online, it looks to me like what Wicked Pixie says too, you seem to have just mixed the bleach and developer and left out the actual dye (the tint and lightener), I don't see it doing much harm other than the fact that it's prob a stronger developer than you needed - like you say just be kind to it for a while and go back to your previous method for next time!
