Trying to remove Blue dye, not going so well..

Hey,

So I had my hair dyed blue for the past couple of months but it's a lot maintenance I can't keep up with right now, so I'm trying to go a medium-brown kinda colour that's like my natural shade.
In the past couple of days I've tried fading the blue with citrus shampoo, a shampoo bar from lush, and Colour B4 but nothing's worked so far. It's just made my roots blonde and the rest of my hair more green than blue.
What would you recommend I do to get it to a colour light enough to dye brown without it going gross?
Is it safe to try bleaching the blue bits (I used Colour B4 last night)?
Thanks

I wouldn't suggest using bleach as it can drive color further into the hair and since it is damaging should really be used as a last resort and only once the color is faded. If you have been dyeing it blue for a while then there is probably some color buildup that will take time and effort to remove. Here is a link to some fading techniques:

Once you get it lighter you can tone it with diluted orange dye to neutralize the color and then use brown. Alternately a coppery brown might cover as well. What blue did you use? Some blues are notoriously nearly impossible to remove but hopefully in your case it's just buildup.

Have you tried a 20 volume bleach bath?!

A bleach bath can also drive the colour further in, bleach should only be used as a last resort on direct dyes
