Hey! So two days ago I bleached my hair twice because the first time was very orange and the second time got more yellowish light orange, so I think if I dye it pink now (its a semi permanent dye) I would turn on a peachy pink and I really dont want that.
So I did some research and bought the wella lightest ash blonde toner so I can make it as light as possible and hopefully remove the orangeness before applying the pink dye.
So my original plan was to apply the toner and the dye tomorrow, but after reading this blog I'm scared my hair will melt, some damage I can handle but not melting o falling off!!
Please help! What should I do? Because I really don't want to have this awful bleached color for weeks!
The Wella toners will not work on orange hair. They are not really supposed to lift, just neutralise brassy yellow to an ash tone. They will definitely contribute to damage, the amount depends on the level of peroxide used and the time left on.
I would avoid any further processing on hair that has just been bleached twice.
You can safely tone with purple shampoo or violet dye diluted in conditioner, but if you want light pink you will need a light blonde base.
If your base is too dark you will have to wait a month and do another gentle bleach.
Thank you so much for answering! So I wont use the toner if its not going to work :/
Is it safe to just dye it today pink? Or could I dye it blonde and the pink? The thing is I have a wedding on wednesday and I really dont want to go with bleached hair π
You could dye it a mid or dark pink, but a pastel pink won't show at all or it will come out peachy or salmony.
Do not use a blonde dye, they are just as damaging as bleach and you will almost certainly end up regretting it!
