You guys are so helpful thank you.

When it washes out and I'm left with the orange/yellow color, can I just tone again with the violet/blue or do I have to use another color remover? I'm just worried that I have put my hair through SO much and I only want to do toning/conditioning not any more amonia or peroxide etc..? I am happy with the level of brightness (I don't want to go white/very light) so the yellow/orange I had from the color remover was ok to tone on?

When you have washed to overtoned areas out, you can then maintain the level of toning by topping up the colour with some violet in your shampoo or conditioner. So you don't have to go back to yellow. It is just a matter of getting the violet toner mix perfect for your hair.

Hi guys,

Thought I would share my result with you. After toning it with purple hair dye (turning it into a cotton candy color  :o) I then added an ash demi-permanant dye and now have finally got an amazing ash blonde color. I am SO happy with the result and hope it wont be to hard to maintain.
