Toning out staining / how to bleach part head.

Hi kids! So I'm in the lightening process, trying to get eventually to white blonde for my next color. My hair previously was about half to 2/3 virgin dark brown, and the bottom half had suuuuper faded green on it, done like 2 years ago or something that would not budge any further with fading methods. I was planning to bleach the top part out, slowly, over several courses, and bleach-bath the bottom, since that would be gentler being that that part had been previously bleached (even though it was foreverrrrrrr ago) since it didn't have much to fade anyway.I was going to paint bleach on the top part, then after that was done add some shampoo to bleach bath the bottom part, but after I got started on the top part I ended up just full-bleachign the bottom part too because it was too hard to keep the bits separate as it's not an even line, some bits go up way higher etc, especially hard to see since my hair was damp with coconut oil.

Anyway, the top part came out browny-orange, as expected from one bleach so that's ok. I'm going to wait a month then do it again. The roots are yellow of course even though I did them right near the end but that's ok. The bottom half is pretty much back to a pale blonde, like at a glance you'd say "yeah that's blonde", but it does still have a really faint green tint. I don't mind bleaching the top part again, but in the time between bleaches (when I'd likely try a bleach bath on the bits that still have a tiny bit of green), do you think I could use some color-wheel magic to tone out the last tiny bits of green? It'd be great if I didn't have to add any more bleach to that part. I'm only being such a perfectionist with getting the last bit out because I think I'm going to go yellow next and I don't want any hints of green to muck that up. The opposite color to blue-green though is red-orange... how would that work? Does it work that way too, or more just for getting rid of the orange/red/yellow tones? I'm terrified if I try and make a red-orange toner it'll just stain the so-close-to-blond bits red/orange which would be much more work to remove. Does it work that way? Worth a try or not worth the risk, and just bleach-bath in a month? Or is it light enough you don't think it'd have too much effect under the yellow?

Follow up question: Is there something you can put on your hair to stop bleach taking to bits it's not supposed to? Like if I put Lush ultra-balm (what I use as a Vaseline equivalent) on the green bits when bleaching the main parts, would that stop it? It's too hard to avoid them perfectly when mid-bleach as they're so uneven up into different lengths of my hair, and the time it'd take to be that persnicketty would mean it'd take me sooo long to get it all in. I'd rather take forever first putting something in to stop it, than to try and avoid the bits while bleaching (which would still run when washing it out anyway I imagine).

Yeah so, I'm not known for my brevity. Sorrrrrrry. Added a couple of photos so you can see how green the green bit is. Sorry they're awful, no makeup/crappy lighting/crappy webcam because my phone broke.
