Tips for bleaching resistant hair

I am so fed up right now. I Just bleached my roots and as usual the hair at my temples is giving me problems. It seems to be incredibly resistant to bleach. I applied it there first this time hoping it would help but I have 2 spots right above my ears on the side of my face that are just barely lightened. Went from brown black to just dark brown, hardly any color lift at all. I wouldn't care too much except it's right on the side of my face and super noticeable.

I capped it with plastic and wrapped my head in a towel to hold in heat and keep it warm. Yes, I did make sure the cap covered my temples.

Should I try hitting it with the blow dryer? Maybe make up full strength bleach for that area instead of a bleach bath?

Full bleach on the annoying areas works for me - sometimes. My temples almost never bleach so I just leave the roots alone and bleach the growth below it ... doesnt help that that area grows 3 times faster than the rest of my hair too though.

Generally because my hair is really hard to bleach I just take it slow and bleach or bleach bath every once in a while these days.

Do you think I'd look stupid if I shaved them off LMAO? I'm going to try full strength bleach on them in a couple weeks (they'll have obnoxious roots by then any way).

I agree, I would try a full strength bleach, and maybe reapply it to that area right before you put the cap on so it's thick + moist. That area dries out on me very easily, even if I have it capped so I usually have to reapply it once or twice during the whole process. Using a dryer would probably help, just be careful to not focus the heat in the same spot and keep it moving so it doesn't get too warm. I did that once on thankfully a very small area and it broke right off

The bleach I use does seem to dry out kind of quickly when used full strength, but if I'm just doing those spots I should be able to cap it quickly. The spots are like the size of a US nickle so it will only take a second to coat it in bleach.

I have some spots in my midlengths that are a bit resistant too but I've been bleach bathing them and getting good results. I think one more bb should get them as light as the rest of my hair. They're probably like that because I used the crappy Manic Panic Flash Lightening Kit in that area the first time I bleached (because it was what I could get my hands on at the time). That stuff doesn't work well on my hair at all.

Got sick of looking at the wretched dark spots and hit the bleach. I did full strength 30 vol bleach for 45 minutes. I capped it and tried adding heat with the blow drier towards the end but it started feeling uncomfortable and I washed it off.

Lifted to a neon ginger, which is fine I guess because it's the color of the rest of my head. Just so frustrating that a 20-30 minute bleach bath brings me to pale yellow on the rest of my hair but these spots just refuse to lighten. They've always been a little trouble, this is the first time they stayed SO dark.

I'm pretty sure I have water and coconut oil in my freaking ear now.
