The salon bleached my hair too light :( What should I do? (Pics)

Hello, I'm wondering if anyone could give me some advice.
I had a hair appointment yesterday to get an ombre/balayage effect put in my hair. I told the lady I wanted my ombre 'a bit brighter' than it already was. Maybe I wasn't clear enough, but it's come out platinum blonde! I've got a picture of what my hair looked like before and after. Apologies for the weird face in the after photo but my friends wanted to see so I sent them a picture and pulled a surprised face πŸ˜›

I went back to the hair salon and said it's too much. I feel bad like I just wasn't clear enough and it's not their fault, although I feel the difference is more than 'a bit brighter'. They agreed to put some toner in my hair tomorrow although I'm unsure whether this will make much of a difference.

I've been told it looks nice now, but it's just way too blonde for me! I was thinking of putting a semi permanent colour over the top to tone down the blonde, but I keep hearing horror stories about hair turning green!

I'll wait and see what it looks like tomorrow, but I don't see toner making much of a difference. πŸ™
Anyone have any advice? I'd appreciate it so much.

They should easily be able to tone it back to a warmer bonde. it may keep fading too light for you, you can use something like Adore browns diluted with conditioner to keep the colour in.

Maybe it looks different in the picture but I'd call that a medium golden blonde, definitely not platinum. I actually think it brightens your face and looks lovely on you, but if you are unhappy the salon should correct it for free. Best to leave it until your appointment, IMO.

You should try living with it a bit, it might grow on you. I agree it's no where near platinum and looks great πŸ™‚ if I were a hairdresser, I'd assume that was what you meant by brighter too.
