Struggling with White hair & Roots

Hey,

So I haven't posted in here for a while, so hi everyone.

Last year I took the plunge and went white/silver, and I really love it as I never thought I would be able to get my hair this light. I am naturally very dark, and I have always had some sort of coloured hair, had purple for years!

Anyway, I am just finding that I struggle with my roots. I bleach them to the point of being pale yellow, but my toner just won't take completely, and they still remain slightly yellow. When I first took the plunge with the white, I tried both Manic Panic & Directions toners, they did absolutely nothing. I now currently use L'oreal PO1 which I really like, but I just want my hair to be all one colour. Its annoying as my hair grows so quickly, and if I tone with any natural roots the peroxide lightens them to ginger which I don't want.

I am also using various different shampoos, most recent being Brassed Off which works great on the rest of my hair, but hasn't really made a difference to my roots.

I would also love any advice on perhaps making my hair more silvery!

Thanks in advance!

your roots are probably not lightening enough to tone. you might want to try other bleaches or get a very pigmented purple shampoo and leave it on for about 10-30 minutes on your roots only. If you want to go more silvery, you need to add a little blue into your toner.
