Splat, mistakes, black hair with a blue tint - lightening it with a shampoo?

Okay so I decided to use Splat hair dye.  I know I know, I knew it was a bad choice putting it into my cart to begin with but I was sorta inebriated and very hyped to dye my hair blue regardless if it was with a known crappy brand of dye.

Okay, so aside from it literally instantly staining every surfaced it touched, turning me into a smurf, and turning my white bathtub into a now blue bathtub during rinsing, my hair is black with a blue tint.

I went from a very light brown to black blue basically, I had opted out of bleaching my hair due to not wanting it to be a vibrant blue and more of a darker blue, a blackish blue just.. more blue I suppose.  And I knew that bleaching my hair would probably give me a more vibrant lighter blue then I wanted since my hair was already light and hadn't be dyed since I shaved it off - so it was prime virgin hair to be dyed.

So my question is, is there any shampoo at Target or Walmart that would lighten my hair?  I don't mind that it's blue black, I've had it blue black before, just it sucks I paid 20 bucks for blue black when I could have gotten the same result with less of a mess for like 12 bucks.

Regardless I do want to lighten it, and if I do lighten it will it will turn bluer?  Is there any sort of product that I can get from Target or Walmart that will either get closer to being blue or making it lighter?  I'm not really excited about the idea of dying my hair again or bleaching it, it's already really damaged from the massive amount of shampoos I'm having to do after dying it due to my hair staining everything and the water never ever staying clear or clear with a blue tint.  I've washed my hair around 8 times since 5AM this morning and I can wash until the water is clear, wait a few hours, go back to wash and it'll run straight dark blue again.  Very irritating.

I am willing to redye it if that's what it takes, however, I'm really hoping for a shampoo or something I can use.  Thanks.

Try a colour remover. NOT a colour stripper. I think color zap is meant to be the better one in the U.S. (I'm assuming that you're from the U.S. as you went to target and Walmart?). Shampooing will fade it eventually, but you could also try adding bicarbonate of soda to shampoo and leaving it on for 20 mins or so. This will strip out a lot.

However, blue on brown won't make a nice blue, it's probably never going to look properly blue and could just end up as mud colour. I'm afraid even dark blues need a paler base to look nice. Strip some colour and see though, I might be wrong.

I think Color Zap is a stripper. Color Oops is available in shops but Colorfix from Sallys is better.
Any sulphate based shampoo will fade it, but as Janine said, not necessarily to a nicer colour.
