The thing about the jewish wigs is that they are short-ish most of the time and their weave point is often at the same spot with the same hair style for atleast half of the wig users so its not hard to tell their wigs apart.
When they use longer wigs its a bit harder to tell πŸ™‚ also many of them dont always know how to put it on properly and thats about most of the trick to make it look legit.

Yes. There's an element of picking the right wig. But it's mostly about putting it on right. Lumpy hair underneath, slightly askew, I've even seen a fringe clipped back into the lining of the wig so you could SEE the lining of the wig.

Like Aeryu says, it's often the shorter styles that are more obvious. Especially if they have a parting as thats where it normally shows the unnatural way the hair is. But, some have amazingly good partings these days.

I have a lovely cheap wig that I wear sometimes, usually just when I have days where I miss my natural colour and long length, and it does help when my hair is 'in between colours'. And it looks pretty real on my because I make sure its fitted right, but mainly because I style it buy wearing a hair band or hair clips which make it look more real.It only cost me Β£20 πŸ˜€

I'm a cosplayer so I own over 10 wigs myself lol I have learnt over the years what to look out for when buying a realistic looking one without having to pay the price for human hair or lace-front.

Hi there. I hope somebody can give me some good advice regarding my hair. I had been dying it pure orange for a few years using majicontrast on the scalp. The condition was fine and I never had any problems. Anyway, I decided I wanted to be pink, so instead was getting the roots bleached and making them pink, or blue, or whatever colour I fancied. Anyway, my hair is split, coming off in chunks and despite getting it cut today, the ends are still massacred. I have used aphogee, I used a protein spray and treatment every time I wash, and a moisturising conditioner. It's broken off about three inches from the root, and the hairdresser said there is no saving it and I cannot ever bleach it again because that will just carry on. I'm devastated, I don't feel like me without my bright hair colours, is it really over for me? I have very thin hair, so that might be why, but every bleach except one last november has been done with L'oreal platinium pink, so good quality bleach, I don't get it!!

You just can't bleach that hair any more, it is too damaged. You will be able to bleach any new growth, but the hair that is already damaged is beyond repair, and any further chemical treatments (so anything that contains peroxide/developer, not just bleach) will cause it do disintegrate. The problem will be getting the regrowth bleached without any overlap, which is probably why your hairdresser told you to avoid any further bleaching. You can continue using true semis such as the ones sold here.

EDIT: Pixie posted whilst I was typing.  πŸ˜€  Her advice is excellent, too!

I'm sorry to hear your hair is in such poor condition, Mindbear.  Sadly, from what you've described... it is highly unlikely you'll ever be able to bleach your already processed hair again.  You can use products to baby it until the worst is grown out and cut away.  Even bleaching your roots at this point could cause the bleach to further damage the lengths if any happens to overlap.

You would probably to your hair some good with a good reconstructor and hydrator. Two products that are routinely recommended and used by many members of the forum are Joico K-pak Deep Penetrating Reconstructor and Joico Intense Hydrator.  Both can be found by searching online (Google, eBay, Amazon) and through salons in the US that sell professional hair care products.  There are some shops in the US that retail them (Ulta & Trade Secret).  These products used once per week (clarify, DPR, then Intense Hydrator) help rebuild protein lost to bleaching/peroxide developer and replenish lost moisture.  There are reviews/testimonials from other members as to how great these products truly are that can be found in the Company & Product Review section of the forum:

You may have to forego bright hair for 6-12 months until your damage is fully trimmed away.  In the meantime, you could still use an Adore in a natural shade to cover the patchy areas and blend your lengths in with your new growth.

Once you've got all virgin hair again, you could go back to bright colours, but I'd strongly discourage you from using a highlift permanent to continually colour the full length of your hair.  The hair just cannot sustain that kind of repeated damage.  You could use a highlift dye to lift your roots, but then use semipermanent colours to keep the colour on your lengths fresh.

Edit: lol 2 replies while I was typing, lol this is exactly as pixies advice πŸ˜›

Sounds like you overprocessed big chunks of your hair, probably by overlapping the bleach on parts already damaged.
You could still dye it pink once it fades enough, with a veggie, but you shouldnt attempt applying bleach on the rest of the bleached hair ever again. Even the roots would be dodgy in the beginning because you still risk overlapping.

Oh what lovely ladies you are!! Okay, well I only ever, once the hair is bleached, put the veggie semis on, like directions, adore, or special effects. The problem I think might have been that I only very recently started using protein, and I use tons of heat because my hair is thin and needs proper blowdrying to look anything. I haven't ever used the Joico Hydrating conditioner before, only the K Pak, so I shall definitely be investing in that. I am nervous i've been proteining too much, because I used the Aphogee 2 Step about four weeks ago, and have used K Pak every time i've washed my hair. I bought an olive oil conditioner for afro hair which has at least made slightly less crackly.

So the fact is, I 'could' bleach my roots again, but it cannot overlap at all? I don't think i've ever met a hairdresser that doesn't overlap, and my hair is dark brown naturally, so how can you make sure that doesn't happen? I really don't want to lose my blue/pink locks, i'd feel misery!!! How long would be best to wait until I did my roots again? Let them grow lots? I tend to get a mega yellow band if they're too long. Oh! Why is hair so complicated!?

Thank you so much <3

An overload of protein could cause breakage as well, once a week is perhaps a bit too often for most hair types.
Drop the heat, less products too in my opinion (I find that, personally, sometimes they cause more trouble than anything positive).

It's really hard not to overlap, you could leave your roots alone for a while and just have the rest dyed. It doesnt look as bad as it sounds so really nothing to worry about πŸ™‚
Try letting your hair grow out about 4"-5" inches before you do your roots again so there is more to work with.

My hair hates protein and it causes my hair to go nuts if I use it even slightly too much and then takes weeks to get back to normal! You could have been making matters a lot worse with that much πŸ™

This is the thing, I don't really know what is improving or making it worse! Okay, operation GROW it out a bit, it's just I really hate my natural brown, it's the dullest colour in the world. I'd rather that then losing more hair. It's a total mess of scraggy dead split ends and three inch long pieces sticking out of chin length hair. I hate it so much. SO MUCH!!!

It's going to be awwwwight.
You could try and get a layered cut to mask the mess if its really awful πŸ™‚

Brown and pink actually look nice together so you still have loads of playground space with it πŸ™‚

You should find some ways of styling your hair without heat too πŸ™‚ I promise you it's possible!

My hair has been cut into a short blunt bob today, which would have been nice if it hadn't started falling out at the ends within an hour. BOOO!!! I am not a big fan of my face so I like to make it big, but i'm willing to find out new ways to style my hair, it's a bit ignorant of anything other than a paddle brush, and hairdryer and tons of volumising products. My job also means I get sweaty hair, so I need it to stay. It's about three inches of blue from the roots into pink, maybe once it grows down I can make the blue darker so it melds into the brown better. Oh, you've all made me feel so much better I can't tell you! I am hopeful that I won't have to act my age and have normal hair! YAY!
