Hello everyone.
I am trying to go lavender. I used a platinum blond system by Feria & the color came out great. I put Ion Brights in lavender over it (had to use conditioner to extend the dye. 2tubes wasnt enough) my bangs are a bright purple, my roots-all over my head are bleach blond, the rest of the hair is varying shades of lavender from bright to light. the dye didnt cover all of my hair either π
I am going to buy manic panic purple and add their pastel-izer to it. my hair is shoulder length so a tub of manic panic will be enough to thoroughly saturate every strand.
What can I do to make sure my roots take this time?
(I am a newb so please tell me what's what in laymen terms)
I am considering a darker purple at this point scared a true pastel lilac or lavender wont cover the bright non pastel bangs I have.
Thank you for all help <3
Have your roots been bleached less than the rest of your hair? That can make them accept the dye less readily. First applications of pastel colours often come out patchy so don't despair yet! The second application should sort it out a lot.
Also unless you have already bought it don't but manic panic pasteliser! It's such a rip off, you just need dirt cheap white conditioner to mix your dye with to make it pastel π
Edit: also ion brights is not rated well at all, your manic panic idea is good, or directions lavender has worked well for me in the past.
My roots are a tiny bit darker than the rest of my hair (end are a true platinum, roots are a shade darker) . I can tell the platinum wasn't 100% uniform by the lavender results (bright bangs, back is more pastel-like I wanted in front)
ion brights comes in small tubes. I had 2 & needed 4 or more for shoulder length hair it seems..
I added conditioner to the 2 tubes to extend it.
Thank you for tip about the pasteliser. Ill use my huge bottle of Conditioner instead. I may pick another besides Manic. Going to Sally's today. Not a fan of ion brights. This is my first try at a pastel shade.
will look for special effects or directions. thanks again π
