Is this possible?
I did two decolour removers on the same day and dyed the result with cc violette. Now the violette is fading it looks like I have chunks of black still in my hair, where there was none left after the removers. I thought decolour remover worked differently from colour b4, that's why I bought it. But now I'm wondering if reoxidation can happen with this product too.
What to do? Should I buy more decolour removers and rinse even longer? Last times I rinsed for 10 minutes (had the husband time it), or should I use the 'trick' of blowdrying it and rinsing again?
I've heard good stuff about a colour remover from Kruidvat, which is a store in the Netherlands, if I get adviced to do more removers, I'll probably try that first since it's more cost effective not having to import it from the UK. π
Thanks!
Decolour claims that it is less likely to reoxidise but I think it still can. Something about breaking colour molecules instead of shrinking them, but I'm always wary of marketing claims like that.
I would go with the cheaper option first, if it works then you won't have to fork out the money for decolour again.
Yes, I read about the colour molecules being shattered rather than shrunk. Would they really say that if it wasn't true?
I've used the decolour remover twice now. I plan on buying one of the Kruidvat removers and see what happens. But can I use it again after that? Not immediately, but after a few days/week?
Here's two pics of what I'm talking about. It's gone a weird sort of slate grey. I don't mind it too much, but I want the black GONE. I should've never dyed it black, haha, oh the regret.
It's a bit hard to capture since the violette isn't light either.
Are you sure it isn't just the violette fading and looking grey over a yellowy base?
the same thing happened to me. My green started looking a horrible brown as the black was coming back. I ended up just doing a 10 minute bleach bath on those areas to get rid of it.
Could that be it? It looks so black/dark grey though. It isn't lightening much at all, just getting more slate grey. I've never had a dark dye fade this way, other dyes always get lighter. That's why I was wondering if it's still black/faded black underneath.
I'm confused by this fade!
Oh, puerkz posted as I was going to. Shame your black didn't stay away either. Did the bleach bath help?
Now I'm questioning if the dye molecules really are shattered or not. ::)

Well, there's a difference between lying and kinda twisting the truth a little etc. If this is one of the former or latter I don't know. Maybe it shrinks then shatters... anything not shattered...
Yeah, I believe they probably shatter at least some of the dye molecules, but I don't think that it guarantees no reoxidation.
I experienced reoxidisation with Decolour Remover too. I used two boxes at once to cover all my hair and followed the instructions but it reoxidised within 5 minutes during rinsing.
Decolour Remover uses the latest technology to safely and effectively 'shatter' the colour molecule rather than just βshrinkβ it. Hair requires minimal rinsing and has a reduced risk of re-oxidisation
I bought it because of the whole 'molecules shatter' thing hoping it might work better than other hair colour removers but after my experience last time I wouldn't buy it again.

Yes. It was gone within 10 minutes. Mine was definitely the black reoxidizing though so i had no other way to get it out. I had already tried all other methods
Thanks for all the replies!
I did a Kruidvat colour remover and it's a LOT lighter now, not as dark grey/black as it was. More like a fade I think I should have with the cc violette. I think it was reoxidation before and am now crossing my fingers and toes and everything that it doesn't do it again now I've used the Kruidvat colour remover.
How long until I can be sure it will stay this way and not go darker again?
