I have been dying my hair for 13 years. I have had every "natural" color hair there is and never had a major problem yet. Close to a year ago I used ferias platinum blonde bleaching kit and my hair hasn't been the same since. I have always used ultra light ash blondes (preference, excellence creame, garnier) and my hair would turn pretty platinum. As of late I cannot get the gold out of my hair. I left the dye on for 60 minutes yesterday and nothing. I don't like highlights, and I don't want to use another bleach kit because I think that's what got me in this mess to begin with. Any thoughts? I don't want to have two tone gold hair forever 🙁

You either need to lighten it further, (you should wait a month before another chemical process) or tone the gold with a violet toner. I would avoid getting the toner on your ends though as they are likely to go lilac. Alternatively add some warmer blonde tones to your ends to blend them in.
I agree with everything WickedPixie said but just wanted to add that perhaps the Feria is not lifting as well as your previous dyes. It looks like it's lifting a bit, but the ash you used in the past probably also deposited some cooler tones whilst lifting well enough to give you that platinum look, so now you're left with a more gingery tone.
Maybe... 🙂
I have a feeling that I'm just going to have to wait for the stupid feria to grow out and chop It off. However on the top I used ultra light ash blonde, for an hour. For all the years I've done my hair it should have lightened a lot more than that. And last month I used garnier. I'm wondering if maybe one of there ash blondes now has more gold in it then before. I was thinking the same, maybe Golding out the bottom a bit to blend it until all this mess grows out. But now I'm afraid ill have 3 tone hair once this gold starts to grow out lol.
I think it more likely your hair has got darker or more resistant. Our hair type does change over time, it looks like it is just not lifting as well as it used to (could even be because your new growth is healthier now) and is sticking at a level 8/9 instead of lifting all the way to a 10.
I talked to a a stylist at the place I go to and she told me that in order to get it lifted I'd have to use bleach. I was tryin to avoid bleach so I was wondering if this is true.
I'm just trying to get back to this, which I was able to do for years with out bleach
I was even able to get to the bottom pic with out bleaching

Platinum blonde dyes are bleach
Blonde box dyes lift hair with the exact same chemical reaction as plain bleach, it just deposits colour at the same time. I think a gentle bleach bath would be enough to lift your hair that final couple of shades if that is what you want. Bleach is no more harmful to hair than a blonde box dye, you just have to add your own toner afterwards.
Plus, if you use bleach and peroxide in lieu of a blonde box dye, you can choose the appropriate strength of peroxide. Apparently, box dyes use a much harsher and higher level of peroxide than you actually need, hence more damage.
So what did you use to get the platinum on the bottom?
I honestly think a light bleach bath would get it light enough to match the rest. A 20 vol bleach bath should be enough, no more than a 30 vol bleach bath though at the most. I would get actual bleach (like Wella Blondor crème bleach) and peroxide separately and not a bleach kit or a blonde dye - both usually have 40 vol peroxide and that is very harsh and wayyy more than you really need. What is your natural color?
When I went platinum, I used feria's new platinum kit. It did work really well, but now the problem is, unless I platinum it again, I can't get the two to match. I get it all one color and then I go to touch up my roots, and have two tone again. That why I'm worried about doing any highlights or bleaching. I want to be able to box dye it again cause I don't have the money to go get it done all the time. In the bottom pic above the only thing I used was blonde supreme excellence creame in ultra light ash blonde. My natural color is very dark blonde. I just want to get back to being able to box dye it like I always have. I don't really understand the box dyes as far as bleach ratios or anything. Is a box the same as straight bleach?
Box dyes lift your natural colour just like bleach, but they deposit the blonde colour at the same time. Bleach just takes the pigment out of your hair, it doesn't put any artificial pigment back in. Hair goes from brown to orange to gold to yellow to a cream colour as it lightens. Your box dye isn't giving you sufficient lift to get you to a pale enough shade for the platinum pigments to tone it, it is too yellow still. So to get a platinum shade you need to lighten beyond the gold/yellow stage, then tone it to platinum. A bleach bath with 20 vol peroxide (half as strong as what you have been using) will take it up these final stages. Then you can put a platinum toner over the top.
It may not be possible to use the box dyes that worked for you before. Buying a tub of bleach, some peroxide and a violet dye to make toner will actually work out a lot cheaper.
I guess I'm just a little nervous to do it myself as far as mixing it haha. I also heard that you used to be able to get a 30 volume developer in boxes and now you can only get up to 20. (The store bought pre packaged ones).
You can get bleach kits with 40 vol developer in them. I think only being able to get 20 vol would be excellent, it would stop a lot of people frying their hair lol.
If you dont want to go lighter, you can even out the colour by adding some warmer tones to the white ends. If ypu use a true semi, without developer, then you can't damage your hair.
I've never heard of a blonde box dye or seen a bleach kit only having 20 vol in it, most have 40. You will damage your hair a lot less by just using bleach + developer. You really shouldn't need anything more than 20 for what you have right now.
I have dark ash blonde hair and I do a 30 vol bleach bath and it gets my resistant hair to pale yellow in under a half hour, it's much less damaging than using a blonde box dye.
The mixing really isn't hard, just read the directions that come with it. Some say mix equal parts bleach crème/powder to developer, some say mix 1 part bleach to 2 parts developer. It should come out being about the consistency of custard or greek yogurt. A lot of people like myself just eyeball it and go more for the consistency. If it's too thick, add some more developer, if it's too thin, add some more bleach to it. You can use it to touch up your roots and as long as you stick to the same brand and formula every time (some lighten better/worse than others) you should get the same result every time.
Your box blonde dyes likely have 40 vol in them, they just don't lighten as much as bleach does, yet because they use a higher vol developer, you get more damage using them. It's much better for the hair to use bleach with 20 vol than a blonde dye with 40.
