If it re-darkened after a colour remover that means there is still artificial dye in your hair. I would do another colour remover, but rinse more thoroughly, with really hot water.
Always bleach (or do any oxidative process) over coconut oil to limit the damage and protect your scalp. Colour removers must be done on squeaky clean, clarified hair without any product on at all though
Ahhhh I didn't shampoo before the color remover. Would it be safe to do a color fix today? It's been a week
Yes, shampoo first, no conditioner. The secret to stopping re-oxidation is in the rinsing though, lots of rinsing with really hot water and a clarifying shampoo (I dont know if Colorfix comes with one?)
Colorfix comes with developer but I skipped it
You can use the developer on a strand after rinsing to make sure all the dye is rinsed out. If not it will darken again at this point
Most UK colour removers come with a buffering shampoo to help get all the colour out.
One more question before I do it tonight, can I apply the colorfix to damp hair?
What does it say in the instructions?
It's confusing because the first step is to apply to dry hair but then after you wash it the first time it says you can reapply to damp hair so I'm not sure what the difference is.
Apply it to dry hair; you are doing a full color correction. The other instructions are for when you are doing them immediately back-to-back in one sitting or aren't trying to remove all the color.
If it's like the ones here, you hold a small amount of the remover back to use mid process. That's what it means. It's just pointing out that you don't have to dry your hair again in the middle to reapply that small amount.
So I did the colorfix yesterday. I think I am going to go to the college of cosmetology tomorrow and have them do it dark blonde. Safe?
Not really. As we've said before. You need to wash it a lot and not use peroxide for a week. As you've already had an issue with it reoxidiising (I think I'm right in saying that, I can't go back and check at the moment) then you really don't want to rush this.
You could check a strand with a little peroxide if you have some, to see if it will re oxidise. I still think you'd be better if waiting though.
