It's really impossible to answer what you will have to do after the colour removers as it's impossible to really predict what the colour removers will do. Use the colour removers, then come back and we can recommend from there π I'm also in the UK (most of us are here), so it's not easy for me to suggest deep conditioners sadly.
Did you test a strand with peroxide to see if it darkens? Generally it is advised to wait a week after using a color remover before re-coloring. I'd still wait even if you plan to do a semi-permanent (direct) color just to be sure all the old dye molecules are washed out. Adore has a nice range of natural colors.
No I did not do a strand test. Tempted to do it one more time but my head burns lol
Could I put HiColor blonde for dark hair only in it?
Those dyes are for virgin hair only, and not for on the scalp use. They are extremely damaging and quite unpredictable, so you will get better results using a low volume peroxide and a good bleach powder or a bleach bath.
Wait at least a week after the colour remover, you want to make sure all the colour molecules have washed out so they don't reoxidise when you use peroxide, and you need to let your natural oils replenish. Only ever bleach over dirty hair.
What if I don't want to wait, lol? Will a normal blonde dye go over it?
If you want to burn your scalp and risk permanent baldness, go ahead.
Plus the old dye could re-darken. You need to let your scalp recover before any further processing, you said yourself it was burning. If you snap all your hair off, that is your choice, hair grows back, but if you damage your scalp the ramifications are much more serious
the only dye that is safe to use now is a direct dye, one with no developer
Okay, okay lol. So which is less damaging, bleach bath or powder and peroxide? And would you recommend a 10 or 20 peroxide?
And what is a direct dye? Like box colors?
Direct dyes are dyes like Manic panic etc that are like coloured conditioner, ie no chemical reaction, so entirely safe.
A bleach bath is probably safest, if you dilute a 20 vol mix by half it is similar to bleaching with 10 vol. The bleach powder is hugely important though, a professional quality bleach will give more lift and do far less damage than a cheap drugstore brand.
You can use a demi permanent with a low vol peroxide or a permanent dye if you want, it depends what you want to achieve ultimately.
It is crucial to wait though, you can do serious damage by rushing things.
Okay I'll give it a week then check back in and you can help me pick dye lol. I want a warm blonde or a really light brown. Preferably more permanent so I don't have to do more touch up than necessary
Should I keep using clarifying shampoo or just deep condition alot. Sorry if I'm bugging you
Wash as normal, but frequently with lots of rinsing.
I don't think you're bugging anyone, but I am going to have to ask you to stop double posting. It's mentioned in the rules in the top section of the forum. You should have had to read them when you joined π Instead, use the modify post button to edit the post, or whatever form it appears with what you're using. It'll show as a new post and its not the busiest of forums anyway, so won't be missed. Thanks π
