Pink Toner - Help

Hi,

Can anyone tell me why my Jerrome Russel pink toner never takes properly over freshly bleached roots? I left 24hr hours before bleaching and toning. It's taken lovely everywhere but i'm left white roots. I made sure it was well applied to the roots with a tinting brush.. Is there a reason for this/anything I can do to stop it?

Sometimes it's because the freshly bleached roots aren't as damaged as the rest of the hair so they're not as porous. You could try a gentle way to "damage" the roots a little bit more, but it's difficult to do without damaging the rest of your hair further. As pastel pink toners are so, SO light, it's a lot more likely that you'll get this issue.

My normal way of tackling this if it happens is to use a slightly darker colour on my roots.

Thanks, that makes perfect sense.
In all honesty it doesn't look too bad as my roots are white white so I can live with it.
;D

I usually apply direct dyes to dry hair as they tend to slip down mine a bit and not take at the root on wet hair, also sometimes if I leave it overnight after bleaching before applying it it gets a bit of oil at the root that stops it taking! It's probably what Janine said but just some other things to consider!

Oh yeah, I missed the part about 24 hours. What do you mean you waited 24 hours? What was the process you took?
