I took my almost 15 year old daughter to a salon last week, the hairdresser seemed reluctant to want to colour her hair, they said as she is under 16 they can't touch her scalp with dye, she said the best she can do is all over highlights without touching scalp, she took a strand test but phoned me yesterday to say she tried the highest volume of bleach, the strand didn't lift much and her hair disintegrated so the best she could do is put a colour conditioner on her hair to darken it but that it would wash out in 2 weeks. I've decided not to waste money on this, should I try another salon or will they just say the same due to her age?
Daughter's hair is a medium brown with patches of black that won't budge, she wants to go blonde, would colourb4 be worth a try?
If she has dyed her hair, you should try Colour B4, yes. I don't know about the age thing but honestly I wouldn't trust a salon that uses the highest volume of bleach. If the hair doesn't lift at all at a reasonable volume, chances are it's stained and further bleaching will only damage the hair without lifting it - in my experience, anyway.
I agree.
I think the age thing is likely an insurance thing. Using strong chemicals on children is hard to insure for. Children normally means under 16. Young scalps are normally more sentitive.
