Need help! Roots won't tone!

So last night I bleached my roots and as usual they lifted to a yellow color (my hair is not platinum more of a natural light blonde). Since the rest of my hair was looking a bit brassy I decided to tone all of my hair including the roots. This ended up with my hair turning a silvery color and my roots still yellow, like a defined band of where my roots had been bleached was a totally different shade. This morning I decided just to tone my roots alone and I left my Wella T18 on for the full 30 minutes... And my roots are still yellow. It looks horrible and I have no idea where I went wrong. I'm so discouraged I feel like giving up on blonde hair but I have no idea how to fix it. I know my roots are light enough to tone, they are definitely yellow and not orange. Any suggestions?

Sometimes, even yellow is too dark. It has to be pale yellow like the inside of a banana.
You should really stay away from peroxide based products for at least 1 month. You have double processed your hair already by bleaching and using the toner too.
I dont really know what to suggest apart from trying silverizing(purple) shampoo.

Thank you for your help! I have manic panic purple haze, do you think I could possibly get them a little less yellow by mixing it with a little conditioner and putting that on my roots while I wait to rebleach them?

ok now that I took a picture and looked it does look like it's not light enough so I guess I'll just have to wait to bleach it lighter

a darker toner such as diluted purple haze might tone it. It does look a bit dark but I think it will slowly tone to the desired color.
