Hi!
So yeah I introduced myself a few minutes ago. and I joined this forum to ask a few things.
I have verry Black hair and I want to dye it Partly white. ( I am asian ) My hair is also verry thick and they said it would be impossible to dye it but come on! I have seen many asians with full white hair before!
so yeah that was in mid september and I was like *ott* .
I gave up and moved on but now I really get that Feeling that I should go try and ask about it so yeah here I am please help me! It would make me happy!
White is actually very hard to get, often even for Caucasian people with mid brown hair. I've never managed fully white without really damaging my hair, and that's normally only after its faded from another colour. My hair is very dark brown. I recently tried, I got close but I have too much yellow in my hair and so it never looks white, though it is platinum blonde. My friend is Japanese and she has such a huge amount of red in her black hair we were never able to get it past the orange/red stage. Not without totally trashing it! So, while its not impossible for everyone, it is impossible for some.
You'd have to do a strand test with bleach and see where you get. If you can get it to a very pale yellow, then is the task of toning it to white using violet dye or shampoo.
If your hair is virgin and healthy it should be possible to get close to white if you are patient. It may not be possible to achieve a true snowy white though, not everyone's hair gets that light as melanin distribution is very individual. Black hair tends to have a lot of eumelanin which is harder to remove than pheomelanin.
You will need to use a really good bleach (you get more lift and less damage that way) and it will take several months. You will have to endure various shades of orange along the way, it is impossible to achieve white in one sitting.

Thanks for your reply with good information.
I have annother Question tough :
So here is a drummer from a band and his hair looks amazing!!
I wanted to do something with my hair like that as well.
BUT:
Think the red+Dark Brown parts as Black ( my hair collour)
and now my question : if the blonde part wasn't blonde, Wich collour should I pick Beside White ?
Red would be much easier to achieve than white. You would only need to bleach to orange to get a vivid bright red, and it would look great against black

That actualy is a good collour as well!
Do you think it would look good on me?
Further to what Janineb and Wicked Pixie were saying about how different people get different results from bleaching; my brother and I have practically identical looking naturally light brown hair (same shade, same texture) and he can get his pure snowy white with very little trouble, whereas mine goes very light but very yellow and often comes out patchy where it is more resistant! There's really no way of knowing until you get to know your own hair!
I think red would look really cool on you, red and black look awesome together and it really is possible to get a bright strong red over a gingery base! I recommend Special Effects reds, they last for ages and turn out even coloured even if your base is a bit patchy!

Awesome! Thanks for your reply! I might do this soon when I have 2 weeks off of school. I asked many people in my environment about my hair and they all refused to even suggest something. I am that other guy in my friend circle unfortunately. They tought it would be weird if I'd dye my hair. Anyways I am gonna stick to this awesome community because I might not have long hair but I love to see others with awesome hair collours.
Maybe a stupid question... But how do you he gray/ silver hair? Or something close to it?
Getting grey or silver requires a white base, then the silver tones are added. You can get a dark grey on a yellow base, but silver requires a very light blonde the same as white

OOOh definetly want to go for grey then!
