Hey everyone, I wanted to share with you my blonde journey so far. Originally I was a dark brown with a purple tinge through my hair. No picture of that sadly. Then I decided I wanted to go back to blonde!
First I used a colour remover called ColourB4.
It Lifted most of the brown and purple from the top, but the sides were still pretty dark. Figured it would not go any lighter with that product though so started using bleach.
I put on coconut oil all over my hair, 3 hours before I bleached it. It remained on while bleaching. After the first bleach it went to a darkish ginger/orange colour with the roots going a yellow colour. (40vol peroxide used)
Obviously not blonde so I decided to bleach again after 4 days. I did the same thing again with the coconut oil. This time I decided to use a toner to see if that would make much of a difference near my roots. (30vol peroxide used)
This lightened a lot better. I think I will only need to bleach a max of 2 more times. Fingers crossed it all goes well. My hair condition is excellent thanks to the coconut oil and I never washed my hair in between the first 4 days because I figured the more oil the better. I also used a leave in conditioner after the first bleach and every time I felt my hair was dry I used Argan oil.
Products used:
Jerome Russell BBlonde Powder Bleach (High Lift)
Jerome Russell BBlonde 40+30vol Peroxide
Jerome Russell BBlonde Platinum Blonde Toner
Inecto Pure Coconut Oil
Umberto Giannini Leave-in Conditioner
Umberto Giannini Frizzi Miracle Worker With Argan Oil
Argan Oil Hair Treatment
TRESemmé shampoo and conditioner
I am now going to wait another 4 days and bleach again. I was just so impatient to get these pictures up haha.
Thanks for reading!
I would wait a lot longer than 4 days if you want to preserve the integrity of your hair.
Colour removers do continue to work on subsequent applications, so i would suggest at least one more round of remover before attempting any further lightening, concentrate on the dark ends. (Colour B4 is a colour remover BTW not a stripper)

My hair is in great condition, so I'm not worried about that. I might use another ColourB4, but I doubt it will have any effect. (Sorry yes, that's what I meant but I assume everyone knew it was colourB4 I was talking about)
If you get more of the old dye out bleaching will be much easier. For dark colours and reds using it three times is usually necessary. I think you will be pleasantly surprised at how much more colour a second application will pull out.
Although your hair may feel in good condition now, bleach damage takes around a month to show. It is also cumulative, so bleaching it again before you have seen the full extent of the damage from the first bleach session is how people end up with fried hair.

Ok thanks for the advice. I think I will wait a bit longer before bleaching just to see if the bleach damage ends up showing. I'll also buy another colourb4 and use that. I'll post the pictures of when I've done it.
Wow - a 40 vol bleach followed by a 30 vol bleach a few days later??? 😮 I think that would be game over for my hair!
I would strongly recommend you buy some Joico K Pak Reconstructor and baby your hair for at least a month or two before bleaching again! (no heat styling, don't brush it when it's wet etc)
Like Wicked Pixie said - just because it doesn't feel damaged now doesn't mean it isn't, it can take weeks for damage to show. Quite often hair feels soft after a bleach, but that doesn't mean it's not fried - also if your leave in conditioner is full of silicones they can mask the damage.
@JennDesu, please check out this thread before you consider bleaching further so soon: Hair Damage shows up later?... it's some eye-opening information.
As said above, bleach damage doesn't always show straight away.
The conditioners you're using have silicones in also which will be helping to mask the damage. Lay off the bleach for a while and baby your hair, it may feel ok now but imagine how you'd feel if you bleached it again and it melted.
I and many others here have made that mistake before.
