Hey guys. This is my first post and I am completely stumped as to how to go about dying my hair. I really want to dye my hair this exact shade of berry/ plum ( photo attached). My dilemma is that i haven't dyed my hair in 2 years. So i have half virgin hair and half bleached/dyed hair. I want an all over even or close to even color. I have attached a picture of myself in natural light . i think the berry color would make my eyes pop but i am not sure how it would go with my skin tone. Feel free to suggest Any other colors you think would look awesome. Also i want a change of style as well but want to keep it long.( and yes i am looking for permanent colors) Ugh. I need major help. Thanks in advance for all of your suggestions . ( also if anyone knows of the exact color in the picture i would be forever in your debt)
Unfortunately your photos haven't attached!
I presume that pic is what you are aiming for? I cant see any pics of you.. But the hair in the pic looks pretty much the same as my hair looked after using directions rubine with a dash of pillarbox red (aso directions). Although my hair was nowhere near as sleek and swishsy and well behaved as that haha... My base was mid-ginger - I'm slowly lightening it with bleach baths every 6 weeks ish from brunette to as pale as poss, so it wasn't as light as it could have been, and there was probably some crazy color vermillion hanging aroumd too making it even more orangey! But rubine is pretty forgiving.
Not knowing what your hair looks like and how differemt the virgin hair is to the processed hair means its difficult to say whether the rubine would cover up the difference or not.. It is forgiving, and blended away my virgin roots well, but half and half is a bit more obvious. Processed hair always tends to show up brighter evem if it looks roughly the same colour as virgin as it's more porous.. You could try a strand test thoguh, with directions rubine (or whatever you choose - adore has a great range of reds) over the processed and virgin hair, see what happens? I live by strand tests, they have saved me from some awful mistakes!
If you can get a pic of yourself up I am sure some of the expert peeps on here can help much more than me. I don't really know much at all yet, I just spotted the pic and rememeberd my own red/berry hair! Just to say, the pic has probably been touched up to make the red highlights stand out more and the colour generally brighter so don't be disappointed if you can't achieve the exact same shade. Also rubine may not work on your hair or it might be too purple or whatever - I'd check out pics and take a look at the adore range too then do a little test before you commit your whole head. Good luck! π
