Lightening virgin hair using no bleach!!!

Hiiii all, I have a new client, she would like her hair to be lightening by 2 shades, she has a light base. But doesn't want me to use bleach on her. Am I right in thinking that if I use a colour with a stronger peroxide 9%/12% I should get some lift??? She is a base of 8/7 and wants to go blonder. Thanks in advance πŸ™‚

Yes you will get lift with a high lift blonde dye, most ranges have them. I would avoid 12% for on scalp use though.
I would also explain that anything that lightens hair can be damaging, but that bleach used correctly is perfectly safe.
So many people believe bleach is bad and dye is safe, which is a ridiculous myth

Perfect thank you, no I wouldn't use 12% on the scalp would be foils if I did that. Would I get lift without using high lift say she a base of a 7/8 and wanted a 9??? Or is high lift my only way with out bleach?? X

All permanent dyes lift, so it really depends on the final shade of blonde she wants. Regular permanent dyes may not lift enough to get past any brassy tones that are revealed as the hair is lightened.

Perfect, I will do a strand test to see the result that she would achieve with her hair πŸ™‚

9%=30volume=up to 3 levels of lift.6%=20volume up to 2 levels of lift.3%=10volume .5-1 level of lift. Less than 3% = deposit only no lift. 12%=40volume=4 up to 4 levels of lift not recommended for use
