Is my hair light enough to tone?

Hey guys! So I recently bleached my hair with Olaplex. I'm surprised it turned out healthy, but very brassy. My hairdresser said I should give my hair a rest and then fix it in the next appointment. He also said he was gonna use dye instead of a toner (since my hair doesn't grab toners very well and hair dye is more permanent). Until then I'm rocking this hideous color  πŸ˜€

I was thinking about a 9.2, or a 9.21 (which has violet and blue) to counteract all the brass. Will it solve the problem? I don't want greenish hair haha (it has happened in the past)

I wonder if this is a common practice since everyone seems to bleach and tone, lol

My goal is a natural looking blonde, not platinum or silver. Like a smokey blonde. But I don't know if my hair is light enough for that. Is it too orangey? I don't want to bleach it any further πŸ™

I'm attaching pics of the hair I'm aiming for and pictures of my current yellow hair mess. Hope you guys can help!

Thank u  πŸ™‚

You can tone without causing further damage by mixing a little purple direct dye into some white conditioner, (or blue if the brassiness is more orange than yellow) or by using silver or purple shampoo. The toners that are mixed with developer are damaging and fade quickly anyway!

It's worth trying toning first and seeing if you like it, the photo of what you want looks really quite light to me, but if nothing else the toning will help you get through the time til you can lighten further!
