In desperate need to help! Hair lightening went wrong

Hi everyone! So I have these hair extensions that are wayy to dark for my hair. I attempted to lighten them with 40 vol developer and on one bundle the hair is red! Red and still too dark for my hair. The others lightened a bit but are still too dark for my hair. I messed this up so I plan to fix it myself. How can I get rid of the red and lighten the hair more? My own hair is about a number 2.

Also, the hair is "virgin" and has not been processed before this

40 vol developer = outta window honey, it ain't happening.

The highest you should go for your own hair is 20%, but taking into consideration how much more fragile hair extensions are, maybe go 10% + powder bleach

Deep condition them as you'd with human hair, coconut oil, argan oil, give them a break

All extensions are highly processed with different chemicals before sold to the consumer + usually use different means of dying than natural, human hair attatched to your head. They typically don't lighten well and get fried easily, especially with 40 vol which is very very harsh. Do you mean your hair is a level 8? Because those look like a level 2.

Unfortunately there's really not much you can do to get them that light, they'll just get destroyed in the process + you won't be able to use them at all. You're better off just keeping them + conditioning the heck out of them + just buying extensions that match your current color or lighter. It's much easier and less damaging to make them darker than it is to go lighter

Katie's correct. Hair extensions arent the same as our hair and most dont take too well to bleaching.
