How to fix yellow tones?

Hi!

I'm on a long year off trip in Asia and I got inspired two days ago to dye my hair blond at a salon in Vietnam. BAD IDEA!

I originally have dirty blond hair but a year ago I dyed my hair ginger which faded into a light blond/orange over time. Not sure what the lady did at the salon but she dyed my hair 3 times and it turned into a platinum blond with orangy/yellow tones which I find terrible.

Two questions:

1- What should I do to change it to a natural blonde color? I've attached a picture of the blonde I originally wanted.

2- How do I know if my hair was bleached or not? Do all hair colors require to be bleached for the platinum effect?

One big issue is that I am in Vietnam and I don't have access to a lot of products and normal salons. Any tips would help!
Thanks so much!!!

Beth

Are you coming back home soon? If so, I recommend buying violet by directions, taking the tiniest bit and mixing it with a conditioner (like tresemme all naturals for example, really cheap) and applying it over yellow bits.

Not all hair types have to be bleached for the platinum effect, but many of them are, as you have to have quite a pale yellow blonde for it too look platinum

Thanks for the reply 🙂

I have another 3 months of travelling in Asia before I head home and I look TERRIBLE...

Do you maybe recommend just buying an ash blonde hair dye in a pharmacy and trying that?

Also, what happens to this yellow/orange tone after some time? Does it fade? Can the sun help fade this color?

I've been reading about a diy fix using dishwashing detergent and baking soda that apparently takes the color out......... *stars*

Thanks again for your help!

Don't buy ANY box dyes !!! Very often they have peroxide/developer in them, sometimes in very high percentages, that literally kill the hair. Don't buy them.

The yellow/orange won't fade, it's how dark hair fades, it starts with black and as you lighten your hair it goes: dark brown, red brown, red, orange, orangey yellow, yellow, pale yellow, white, you're bald b*tch (lol)

Getting ashy colour naturally is almost impossible, it's about having yellow hair (naturally) and toning them with purple/blue

I don't think baking soda will do anything. Your hair is yellow/orange because it's at this stage of fading.

Sun - UVA/UVb rays are highly harmful for both our skin and hair (more skin though)

You just gotta wait till you get home, sorry

You will need to find a a true semi to put on it to tone it.  Or maybe they have purple shampoo there like Shimmer Lights?

Thanks for all the help and explainations. You guys rock!

I will look for a purple shampoo or violet by direction when I get to a bigger city and get back to you on the results. Is a toner like a semi-dye?

Haha bald b*tch..can't wait!

If you can't get hold of any violet dyes or silvering shampoos etc you can make your own with Gentian Violet if you can get that more easily where you are. It is sold in chemists as an antiseptic/anti fungal, and  will dilute in condtioner to make a makeshift toner.
