Hey π I'm looking to fully bleach my hair but I'm really quite inexperienced with bleach so I'd really appreciate some advice or tips!
So, history of my hair; I have very long and thick(a little past waist length) dark blonde hair that hasn't been processed fully at all before apart from a very gentle ombrΓ© that I did get some help with from here so thankyou!
I'm looking to bleach it to a very light ashy blonde but I still want it to appear somewhat natural if I can. I don't want it looking too white/yellowish/silver if at all possible! I've added a picture of it and two of the shade I'd really like to achieve.
I live in Ireland so we do have Sallys, but I can purchase products online if I do need to.
My best guess from binge reading a few topics here is to use a bleach like Wella Blondor with a generic 20vol peroxide and plenty of coconut oil, tone it with a diluted pigmented violet dye like pravana violet and continue to do so with purple conditioner? Is olaplex worth it (and would I be able to get it)?
If anyone has any suggestions, I'd gladly take them!
I would really like to achieve this colour by bleaching it once, and I know that hurry and bleach shouldn't be in the same sentence but I have a debs (prom!) to attend to at the end of February and I'd love to have my hair coloured by then. Obviously then I don't have months to wait between bleaches but I certainly don't want to double process.
I'm very nervous about badly damaging my hair, so if you think I can't achieve this colour in that timeframe or at all without extensive damage, please tell me as I have no clue! I'd make do with a darker colour I suppose π
Sorry if I'm rambling and for all the questions, and thanks again! π xx
My main piece of advice would be to not try and bleach it all in one go.
Do it section by section, I would start with the under layers (which are typically darker and harder to lift) and you will be more experienced by the time you get to the top layers that will show.
Don't skip the strand tests, one bleaching with Blondor and 20 vol may be enough to get you to platinum, if it lifts too fast you may need to drop to 10 (which will be slower giving you more time to work, but also less damaging)
The fact that your hair is pretty much virgin and already quite light makes this achievable in the timeframe.
Thankyou WickedPixie! I'll definitely keep in mind the peroxide and buy both just in case! I should hopefully have everything bought and ready to go soon, so I'll keep this updated
If you are using the Blondor cream, get more than you think you will need, it doesn't go very far
