how do I get both sides of my head even?

Hi guys,

Im new here so hopefully im posting this in the right place:)
The left part of my hair is a chocolate brown and the right is a light blond. Both sides are dyed, natural hair is more of a muddy blondish colour.
Ive had this for about two years so im ready for a change and want to go to a bright orange/yellow colour.
I have already started washing my hair with anti dandruff shampoo and crushed up vitamin c tablets, and it has lightened the roots slightly but the ends of my hair are still quite brown.
Im wondering how I should approach this? Should I try using a hair colour remover/stripper? and should I do that on both sides or only the brown side? I know I have to bleach my hair eventually but I want to prepare as much as possible before I do it.
Please let me know what you think, thanks!

What is your hair history? What dyes did you use to get your current colour?

I have been dying the brown side with permanent L'oreal box dye (different shade of brown but same brand) for about two years, touching up the roots every month or so. The blond side is dyed with Wella color. I bleached it a long time ago but Im pretty sure all of my bleached hair has grown out because I have been cutting it frequently πŸ™‚

So just box dye over your natural dark blonde on both sides?
I would start with a colour remover, you may need to use it more than once on the brown side.
