highlights confusion...

This may be a stupid question to ask but I have natural dark blonde hair that I have previously had blonde highlights done this was done about 6 months a go now so I've got a lot of root. Now I want to get highlights done again but I'd like to get golden blonde highlights done from the root going down to a more platinum colour on ends. Is this possible because I've read this online somewhere that it is but I've also read online that's highlights aren't shades of blonde it's more the bleach going lighter if left on longer?  If this is true how can I get my hair highlighted that way?

Thanks πŸ™‚

I've never had highlights done but i would assume it's a case of doing the same as before but processing it for less time. Otherwise you could get them platinum and use a golden rinse on the top half.
Depends on how much golden blonde you want on the top.

I've never had my hair highlighted that way, but I think as Puerkz said, it'll just be a case of processing the bleach at different times. I'd imagine they'd start from the tips & then half way through your ends processing add the bleach to the top half. Best thing to do is ask.

Any time you are lightening your hair you are bleaching it. Bleaching = removing hair pigment. When you process your hair with an oxidative dye (a dye mixed with developer) you are removing some of the hair's natural pigment and replacing it with synthetic color. You can lighten hair without adding any color back, though. Hopefully that helps clear that part up! πŸ™‚
