Hello Everyone.

Looking for some help on a toner for my hair.

I have used box dyes to get blonde and had various shades. I now use trulites blue powder & 20 vol developer to do my roots.

Did my roots yesterday, and noticed I have some dark blonde pieces as the trulites have brought the roots up quite light.

I do have provoke shampoo (brightening) which I used yesterday and have a tube of Fudge conditioner which is pale lilac colour I did put some of that on yesterday (didnt leave them on very long)  but it doesn't seem to have given any effect on the darker blonde hair.

Ultimately I am looking to be an ash blonde. So can anyone recommend a toner    *anyone*

Pictures attached Thanks

You can try Wella Charm t-18 or white lady, it's a light ash blonde. You should be able to get it at any Sally Beauty Supply.

Hi Lindsay and Thank you for your reply I was beginning to think no one had any ideas. I am in UK but I think I can buy that on line. I have seen a few videos on youtube and people seem to have very mixed results with T18 is that the only Ash blonde you can buy?

Thanks again

I think you will struggle to get that orangey patch to blend in without lightening it further. The rest of your hair looks very white, so you could try just toning that patch. I am not a huge fan of the wella toners personally.
Do you want to dye all of it a darker ash shade? If so I would use Direct dyes and custom mix to tone that orange area. Adore have great natural shades you can mix and dilute, or Wella Colour Fresh is a non oxidative range of toners, so non damaging.

Depends on the porosity of the hair etc but not very long, not long enough to justify the damage IMO

So would just the silver shampoo's do or something like color mask ? I think they last 20 washes, last time I used one it didnt really last.

I tried the Bonacure shampoo, but it hasn't done much to help. Can you recommend a toner ?

Did you just use it like shampoo, or did you apply like dye to the areas that you want to tone, leave for as long as needed?

Yep, I leave bonacure for several minutes, some leave it for up to 30 mins.

I did a shampoo and left for 5 mins, dried it and it didnt make much difference. So next I put it in a mixing bowl and painted it onto the yellow color, its highlighted it slightly but I think I'm seeing it that way (hoping it made more of a difference.)

I am getting it cut short next week, and I was thinking of trying the Schwarzkopf Live XXL Colour Toner, Icy Platinum as I really like the silver ash color it shows, would I be better of trying to paint out any bits of yellow left or will this toner make a difference on any yellow left.

Thanks

It can leave a slight purple tone, when I painted it on to the yellow bits it did pick up purple in electric light. I bought a huge size bottle so will stick with it for now.  πŸ™

Having a short cut next week and thinking of trying Schwarzkopf Live XXL Colour Toner, Icy Platinum when cut, so if there is any yellow left I might just bleach it out. Really like the colour on the box of the toner. I suppose toner is the only way to silver ash color is it?
