Help please! Need to go blonde asap!

Hello everyone! I really need some advice on what to do with my hair and how to make it go blonde without the use of bleach.

I cannot bleach my own hair I would need some help so it's nice and even. My mother is fantastic at doing my hair but she refuses to bleach it again as she thinks my hair will fall out.

I am currently a dark brown colour which is more of a dark chocolately brown. I enjoyed having dark hair and now I'd like to go to an ash blonde colour.

I'm scared to even go down the bleach root in-case it would make my hair break off, and I have already used ColorB4 and it did NOTHING and had done MORE DAMAGE than bleach would.

I dunno what to do next. Could I possibly use box blonde hair dyes and would that help make my hair lighter?

I am currently using MorrocanOil once every 2 weeks so it keeps my hair healthy but I still get hair breakage even when I haven't dyed it in so long.

I would like to add that I will NOT go to the hairdressers to lighten my hair as they charge extortionate prices. I have been before for "highlights" and spent Β£115 and there was no difference to my hair. It was such a waste.

Well, there's a few things.

There is NO way that colour B4 can cause more damage than bleach. It does dry out the hair, which can feel terrible, but use a good deep conditioner and it'll be fine.

What dye did you use to go dark? Do you use hair straighteners or other heat styling? I do know though, Moroccan oil is jam packed with silicones. If you use straighteners etc you can end up melting the silicone on to your hair and that will stop anything removing the colour. Stop using the Moroccan Oil, it's a swizz, it's not helping the health of your hair, it's masking the damage and making it seem healthy. Use pure argon oil and coconut oil.

Do not use any lightener yet. If you really feel you must, then for heavens sake, do a strand test. If colour remover didn't do anything, then lighteners most likely won't either. You need to try Colour B4 again, and if you didn't before, you need to make sure your hair is free of any silicones (if possible) by using a clarifying shampoo before using the colour remover.

Going from dark to blonde is NOT a quick thing. There really aren't many genuine reasons for needing to go blonde quickly, unless it's to have your start breaking. Hairdressers that advise going lighter with highlights are actually the ones that are sensible. If they made no difference to your hair, again, it likely means you won't get the brown out. Sorry.

The ColorB4 made me lose a lot of my hair which I found was more damaging than bleach. I do not understand why this happened as I left my hair alone. Didn't straighten and didn't use hairdryers. This was BEFORE I used MorrocanOil.

I have bleached my hair before from this colour with one go and went straight to white blonde which was fantastic. I will do a strand test next time but my hair colour is really patchy and awful at the moment because some of the brown dye has washed off in places but along the middle part of my head it's still very dark.

I'm too scared to use colorb4 again as a lot of my hair broke off after using the buffer.

And the shade I used was loreal preference Brazilian brown (3)

Honestly, there is nothing in the colour B4 that can damage your hair to that extent. If it did anything, it might have removed anything that was masking the damage. There a LOT of ways that you could be adding silicones and I wouldn't be surprised if it were in your shampoo and conditioner, because it's in most of them these days. Also, it can take damage from dying a while to show up. It is very likely coincidence that you're noticing breakage when you did the remover.

The dye you used definitely has silicone in the conditioner that comes with it, I don't have time right now to check it over in detail. It's certainly more likely than the remover causing breakage.

If your hair is patchy now, it's likely in pretty bad condition where it's faded (or, oddly, at the roots, if that's lighter, that might not be in quite bad condition enough). If it's breaking off, it's definitely in bad condition, regardless of what caused it. You might have to give up on plans to go that light. Especially if you won't use colour B4 again. Any dyes or bleaches will cause a hell of a lot more damage.

The buffer in Colour B4 is a clarifying shampoo, if it made your hair fall out your hair must be in pretty bad shape.
Colour removers do not affect the structure of the hair like bleach and oxidative dyes, so they cannot cause damage. They do make the hair dry, which can cause breakage if the hair was already fragile
The correct way to go from dyed brown to blonde is colour remover, probably more than once, then gentle bleaches spaced a month apart.
Blonde dye will not lift the old dye out.
If your hair is breaking and fragile you should stop using any chemicals on it and choose a direct dye. these are the only dyes that are safe to use on damaged hair.

Okay I'll have to leave my hair alone. I'll have to get some shampoos and conditioners that will help with the damage and keep my hair nice and healthy. What shampoos and conditioners would you guys suggest?

When you say you went white blonde from that colour before, has all of that hair grown out now or has some of your hair had brown dye then bleach then brown dye on? If so that could be the problem, the developer in a permanent (or even semi permanent ) box dye will still damage your hair, I know I've got a semi permanent brown over bleach at the mo and even that I can really tell a difference in my condition!

I don't think you'll be able to use a blonde box dye to lighten it as a tint can't lift a tint, so you need to use colour removers or bleach baths but if your hair is breaking you might be better just being kind to your hair and living with being a brunette for a while πŸ™‚ maybe top up the fade with some adore natural shades or something? Trust me, when I was younger I had to cut my hair from waist length to a bob from lightening and darkening  it too often (with box dyes, not bleach!) and it all breaking off!

I've been using argan oil to condition and it seems really good (even had people say my hair looked shiny recently! Shock horror!) but you have to be careful to get one that is just the oil without any silicone or mineral oils added (same with coconut oil - some have petroleum jelly in!)
