Hey! Feeling like a noob as I'm 27, have been dyeing my hair on and off for over a decade and have never fallen foul of blue before. But I thought, why not? And now I know!
I've got long, thick, curly auburn hair normally - I dyed it with a directions pot of blue dye (lagoon blue, maybe?) 3 or 4 months ago and am down to a kind of greenish blue with auburn-esque streaks. Awesome, I know... But I kind not want it back to normal-ish (I'll take any reddish all over at this point!) by August when I'm having baby #2.
So, I've tried clarifying shampoos and leaving on, all clingflimed and towelled, I've tried the vitamin c mix left on, I've tried the stronger colour b4.... Is there any way to rid me of this turbulent blue minus bleach?
Any advice hugely appreciated! My 7 year old is totally intrigued by the weird ever-changing colour of my head, but when he was little I had it natural too so he'll have to find other amusement s for a while!
Can you post a picture of your current hair colour?
Might be possible to dye over it with a veggie dye, Adore do a lot of natural shades.
I've also got green hair as I'm trying to fade out Directions blue dye π really sticks doesn't it?!
Just as a side note you should be fine with bleach even though pregnant, I'm due in August too and I was told that bleaching is ok after the first 12 weeks and as long as you keep the area well ventilated.
I know a forum member once covered pretty saturated green with one of the adore natural red brown shades and it came out fine, I can't link just now as I'm on my phone but you can probably find the thread in the 'natural hair colours' section π
Auburn is reddy-brown, red cancels out green. You should be able to plop an auburn dye over the top and have it turn out fine. If you wanted a golden or an ash brown, you'd have a problem, but not a red brown.
OK, so it's still a bit wet, but this is the best approximation of the colour I can get right now...one shows the colour better, the other shows the length more in case that makes a difference! The too and ends are fairly day, the middle part always takes forever so I guess that's why it's looking a little darker than normal at the mo!
I'm also adding a photo of my natural colour in case that helps at all!
What dye are you planning on using? I feel like you should be able to get a red brown over what you already have if you're using a good dye.

This is the thread I was talking about, as you can see it's really possible to get red brown over green hair π
Wow, that thread's results are amazing! And started off greener than mine! Hope! Thanks for the link!
What dye to use... Normally to get back to normal I use Superdrug's Rich Copper Gold (it comes out a little darker on me than on the box and somehow manages to blend when my hair grows, it's my magic go to), but I'm thinking it might be a little light to go over this well.
I might try an adore one, but I've got to have an ingredients search first (I read somewhere they smell coconutty, which I'm annoyingly allergic to!)... Any advice?

Ooh, ta for that, kitebunny! Yay, no coconut! I'm always getting screwed over by that allergy (nice cookies and curly hair products, I'm looking at you), so extra yay that it doesn't apply here!
