a'righty, I recently came across clairol nice n easy foam dye. What I wana know, if anyone else does, if it actually does what it says it does haha. It says it gives you a natural dye and lightens hair. So does that mean.... my:
dark blond --> medium blonde
medium blond --> light blonde
light blonde --> light light blonde
is that what it will do to my hair? rather than changing all of my hairs the same color?
I want to lighten my over all hair color, it's yellow/dark blonde and I want to go brighter/whiter while keeping all the natural highlights and lowlights.
It will work, up to a point. Permanent dyes work by lifting your natural colour out and adding the artificial colour. The problem is when your hair is lifted it may reveal a lot of warmth, and the colour in the dye might not be able to cover it if it is a light blonde. This is why many box blondes leave a ginger colour rather than blonde. It will lift each hair by the same amount though, (as long as it is your natural colour and the highlights aren't created with hair dye) so your lighter hair will be lighter, but your very lightest blonde may end up the same colour as some of the darker pieces as it will take the colour only. Definitely do a strand test, these box dyes rarely turn out the colour on the box.
