Grow it out or use colourB4

Right currently I have my hair dyed with xxl black I've had this for around 4 year so it's a lot of hairdye :(, my hair is just Past my collar bones, I don't use heat on my hair at all, maybe the odd hair dry when I'm in a hurry which is probably once a month at the most, but I'm wondering would it be worth trying to use colourB4 or should I painfully wait out probably a year and just let my hair be bleached once it's all virgin hair again? And if I do grow it out is there anyway to try and fade the black so my regrowth is not overly noticeable because it's only around 2 inches so far and it's already annoying me since my natural colour is a light brown πŸ™

What result do you want in the end?

Try the colourb4. However, if you want a blonde, be aware you might never get there on the ends as black tends to stain. You might get an interesting reverse ombrΓ© though πŸ™‚

Im hoping to get a base light enough dye to use purple rain by artic fox or at least getting to a colour Which won't look so bad growing out. Iced used colourB4 before on super dark brown and it went a nice colour but no way light enough to dye, :/ I think I'm probably just gonna grow it out.. I know I'm gonna need to bleach it, and I'd much rather bleach virgin hair than anything else, because I know my natural colour is light enough to only need one bleach at 30 vol. I may use colourB4 anyway though since I think growing out ginger would look less nasty aha

You can actually use colour removers 3 times, so it can be possible.

I don't know that colour or brand personally, but most purples work on ginger bases, so you don't need it really light. If not, maybe a different, more highly pigmented purple would be better.

But again, even if you can't get the ends light enough, you could get an amazing ombre with darker ends.

I used colour b4 on an XXL dark red a couple of years back and got a brilliant result - it came out a nice light ginger that I then lightened further with a bleach bath til it was peach. Not sure if it would work as well on the black but it did a great job on the red. (I'd been using the red for a couple of years I think.
