Good brands of Coconut Oil?

So it's getting to that time where I desperately need to bleach my roots, and I've heard a lot of good things about putting Coconut Oil in your hair before bleaching.

Can anyone recommend me a good brand that you have tried personally? I'm always a little bit wary of putting things in my hair before putting any form of dye/bleach on, as I'm always scared the chemicals could react, so some recommendations would be appreciated.

Thanks πŸ™‚

Edit: I'm sorry if this is in a FAQ or stickied post somewhere, I did look! Promise!

I use ma Devlin's organic virgin coconut oil from amazon. It's 7 quid or something which is about half the price of buying it from a shop.

I was actually looking to purchase one from Amazon as I still have a free student Prime trial, so this one would be perfect! I think I'll give this one a go then unless anyone else responds with a better suggestion in the next day or so. Thanks πŸ™‚

I use whatever brand, I have never noticed any differences tbh.  I only buy virgin organic as i use it for lots of other things besides hair. The stuff sold for beauty/hair purposes is usually hydrogenated, it seems to work just as well for conditioning, but I don't know if hydrogenation affects the oils properties for protecting hair whilst bleaching.

I use cooking grade coconut oil. No brand in particular as long as it's pure. I also cook with it.

Do not use Coconut Oil that has been intermixed with other ingredients.  You just need to look for 100% pure Coconut Oil.  You can find this in Supermarkets and Health Food Stores.  A littles goes a long way and it lasts for ages.  I wrote a blog on Coconut Conditioning a long time ago - so you might find it useful:-

Do you know if hydrogenated coconut oil is as effective?

I thought the superdug was mixed with other ingredients. It does say fragranced which makes me thing its not 100% pure. Supermarket stuff is the real deal and you normally get more for your money. I went to Holland and Barret and walked straight back out when I saw their price for the same thing.(raw)

I got mine in a health food shop that is (weirdly) inside my local HUGE Tesco - it's a strange Tesco, it's almost a mini shopping mall.  I keep craving my roller skates when I go there, it's so vast and weirdly laid out.

I think this is the stuff - raw, organic, virgin, cold pressed, farted out by unicorns, etc.  (pretty sure I didn't pay that much for it though!!  Even though it's a huge tub)

It's nice stuff.  I mostly use it for my hair but cook with it sometimes.  My cats like it too, I let them lick it off my fingers.
