go blonder shampoos to help fading?

Hey everyone,
I was wondering, not that I'm aiming to try it any time soon, that besides the usual methods for fading semi-perms (e.g. head & shoulders with vitamin C tabs mixed in), could a go blonder shampoo help? Like say brands such John Frieda? If so, it might be lil less damaging.
Any advice/info?

I may be wrong, but I would guess those "go blonder" products might contain natural lightening ingredients, such as lemon and chamomile.  Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I haven't tried them myself as I didn't think they'd do much for me!

Chamomile actually doesn't lighten hair by the way, its more like henna and adds golden tones or makes blonde 'brighter'. I'm still yet to be fully convinced that lemon lightens the hair. I've read about it being the 'redox' effect, but I'm not entirely sure that's true with lemon juice. I can't help but think its having more of a clarifying effect and so brightening the hair that way, removing dirt etc. good chance I'm wrong of course.

I don't think it'll do much more than usual shampoos, if anything, to be honest. Not worth the expense. Though that's assuming its expensive, which I suspect it is. If it's not, meh, try it if you want. Having said that, reviews I've seen of it in the past say its very drying so doesn't sound like it'll be any better than using clarifying shampoo.
