Getting a 'natural' colour from silver/blue

Hi all,

So I've been playing around with grey for a while now after a period of bleaching my hair almost white, and I'm thinking that for work and general ease I'm ready to head back to a more normal colour. My main issue with the colour at the moment is the roots coming through and upkeep.

I've been grey for a few months now, and the colour is at a point where it doesn't budge. I'm a natural medium to dark blonde, and ideally I'd like to get back to this, but I understand to get the grey/blue out I might have to go darker if I want it covered.

So, is bleaching and toning my hair going to get it to blonde? Or do I need to go to a darker colour to cover this? Any thoughts or advice is appreciated!

Definitely don't bleach to get it darker! That is pretty much never  necessary.

A warm blonde toner/ dye may cover what you have now. It looks pretty neutral to me to be honest.

However, you can fill the hair with a warm colour (so really diluted red if you want a medium blonde) before shin back to a natural colour so that your base isn't interfering with the natural shade.

I agree, you just need to tone with something that has orange in it. I would dilute something like Adore Mocha and put it over the current silver to make a warmer blonde.

Thanks ladies, I'll definitely give this a try! Does anyone have a suggestion for something like Adore Mocha in Australia? We're limited in the brands we get over here!

What brands do you have access to?

I'm thinking that these would be the best: http://www.hairhousewarehouse.com.au/hair-care-products/home-colouring/permanent-colour.aspx
Otherwise these have always been effective and trustworthy: http://www.chemistwarehouse.com.au/category.asp?id=706&cname=Schwarzkopf+Live+Colour+

I wouldn't advise a permanent colour at all. You don't need to lighten further, so you don't need to risk the extra damage.
Don't you have access to any direct dyes or non oxidative toners?

Agh, I wish I could just use the brands you guys recommend but things just aren't the same over here! I think my best option is to ask at a salon what they think is best for me to use. I'll give it a shot and see how I go!

There must be toners in Australia lol. You just need a direct dye, not one that requires peroxide/developer.
